GUIDO'S RACECAR

Back around 1998...Scott Sloan and Roni Allwaise went on a song writing rampage. The result was a set list of music that re-defined punk as it stood in the post anything era that was boring the world to pieces. Frantic, smooth, chaotic, dangerous and melodic...this was music that had no boundries. Around 2000,The original band with Sloan (guitar), Alwaise (vocals), Lane Klozier (drums) and Bombilla (bass) started turning heads in Milwaukee and Chicago with a sound that was described as a modern day Velvet Underground. Sloan's unique approach to guitar and Klozier's high impact-no fluff thunder were the perfect compliment tp Roni's captivating stage presence and haunting, hard edged lyrics. Although the band never made a concious effort at it...the phrase "these guys are rock stars" followed them everywhere. After about a year, drugs, booze and attitudes led them to a place of artistic differences. On a fabled gig at the now defunct Globe East...tempers flared and Sloan's fist got sore....Roni and Lane were confused...and Bombilla was in need of Urgent Care. Enter 2005. At a reunioun show with good friend Adjs handling bass, producer Mike Hoffmann was in attendance. Impressed with the band, he offered his services. After five years the music was as fresh and innovative as it ever was, and with Hoffman's direction, Guido's RaceCar recorded the album Real Fast. Problem is; great artists are known for beating each other to death while in the creative process. The song writing team of Alwaise and Sloan churned out more and better hits...Klozier provided adequete thunder and Adjs plowed through the bass lines.....but the band couldn't seem to get the car in gear. Sloan's wanderlust led him to New Mexico to persue other things and the band seem to grind to a halt..... BUT..don't despair.... Allwaise and Klozier have decided to gas up the RaceCar once again with a new line-up....JohnnyWashday(bass) & Mike Hoffmann(guitar)........ Many of the songs remain the same, but new ones have arrived as well as the re-visitation of many of the Sloan-Allwaize coalition. GR will allways be Allwaise/Sloan/Klozier at it's core...but stay tuned....GUIDO'S RACECAR will be returning to the stage this NOVEMBER(2007)..& they deffinately ARE ready to ROCK!!!(so dont miss it)........&, always remember folks......GUIDO LOVES YOU!
