About Me

JoAnn Riedl is a d.i.y. singer-songwriter hailing from Milwaukee WI. Playing out since her first open mic in 1998. She performs solo acoustic and at times with a backing band. JoAnn also plays guitar, ukelele, and sings with The Barrettes, a four piece girl band.JoAnn combines folk, punk and rock into her at times gentle yet percussive guitar style. She is a self taught guitarist who lures you in with her saultry voice and her rhythmic tendencies.JoAnn Riedl has played several shows in the United States and has performed several times in Canada and Ireland. In her spare time you can find Riedl hitting the open mics in whatever city she may be passing through.JoAnn Riedl has shared stages with diverse musicians such as Alix Olson, Shara Worden (front woman for My Brightest Diamond,) Alina Simone, Brianna Lane, Greg MacPherson, Eric Peterson/Mischief Brew, Nervous but Excited, Robert Blake, Ghost Mice, Steph Taylor, Cathy Cathodic, Blair and many more.JoAnn released a new album "When the Tide Comes," spring 2009. There are 9 songs on this album. It's a one track one take recording, recorded at Howl Street Studio in Milwaukee, WI. It's an intimate recording of JoAnn and her guitar, an her banjo on the last track.Let's trade shows!
