FIVE QUICK FACTS 'BOUT ME:

*I am Muslim, and proud. Until I die I will never be anything more noble than a slave of Allah.
*I am married, and I love my husband with all my heart. Next to Allah he is the most important entity in my life. *I am so challenge your assumptions!
*I constantly have the urge to take off my shoes and jump into every water fountain I find. *I am the most trustworthy person you may ever meet in your life, and thats a fact.

My name is Molly and I'm a converted Muslim and a Communications graduate from Arizona State University. I'm originally from a small town north of the Twin Cities called Forest Lake, I graduated class of 2001, and left that town as quickly as possible to move on to bigger and better things. Of course bigger and better things translated to three years at Century Community College, but who's counting? I have gone really far from who I was in High School, to who I was in College, to who I am now. I've been through a lot in my life, but its only formed me into the person I am today. And I don't know about you, but I think I'm pretty cool. Other than that my husband is a real role model for me. He's the example of a Muslim that I want to live up to, he keeps me real and he keeps me in line. My momma raised me to be a no-nonsense girl, if you ask me I will tell you. Brutally. Honestly. Without reservations. But I will do it as kindly as I possibly can. I'm wrong more than I like to admit, but I do admit. I'm tough, but I have a good heart and I'd like to try to keep it that way.

I'm bilingual, I speak Spanish and English, and its a very LARGE part of my life. Soy guera afuera y morena adentro, hecha en los estados unidos pero con un corazon de Mexico. I'm poetic and romantic at heart, my dream is to be a writer and a documentarist, although I may not be very good at either. I want to write screenplays, although only for fun, I want to write poetry and novels, although I may never publish them. I love music, movies, and art. I love my religion and I love my God, I'm serious about being true to Allah. My favorite color is purple, my favorite band is Manu Chao and Radio Bemba, my favorite movie is Snatch. I love people, I love cultures and communities, languages, and history.

..
"A woman in hijab is like a present waiting to be unwrapped." -Faraz

I am a very happy Hijabi (this means I cover my head) and this is why:Quran:An-Nur:31 And say to the believing women that they should lower their gaze and guard their modesty; that they should not display their beauty and ornaments except what (must ordinarily) appear thereof; that they should draw their veils over their bosoms and not display their beauty except to their husbands, their fathers, their husbands' fathers, their sons, their husbands' sons, their brothers or their brothers' sons, or their sisters' sons, or their women, or the slaves whom their right hands possess, or male servants free of physical needs, or small children who have no sense of the shame of sex; and that they should not strike their feet in order to draw attention to their hidden ornaments. And O ye Believers! turn ye all together towards Allah, that ye may attain Bliss.

My Interests

I'm interested in way too many things to list on here. But some of the more important things go in this order:

1)Allah and Islam. This includes EVERYTHING down to my love of giving dawah. But I'm not into dawah in the strict sense, I'm into being an envoy between US and THEM. I feel like I do more for Islam by being me AND being Muslim all at the same time, and I spread more knowledge about Islam while going to school or work as a white girl in hijab than I would passing out flyers and posting bulletins.

2)My husband (he keeps me occupied), my family, and my friends. There's a reason I keep my phone on at all times, if you need me, I'm here waiting.

3) Traveling, languages, and cultures. I will never get enough of any of them.

4) Reading. I'm a nerd.

5)Being a good person. This is incredibly important to me, not only as a part of my Islam, but a part of who I am. I'm not perfect, in fact I'm blatantly imperfect, but I'm working on it. As my husband says, "this soul is under construction." So please bear with me.

6)Art, movies, music, and anything fine arts. I can't get enough of 'em. Challenge my intellect please.
7)Palm Trees. 'Nuff said.

I'd like to meet:

I would like to meet anyone who has questions about Islam, questions about me, or any deep philosophical wisdom to gift to me. I cannot and will not stop learning, even on the other side there are things to know and discover by God's infinite wisdom. Yes I am religious, no I am NOT close minded. You don't believe what I believe? GRAVY! I'd love to talk to you. And other than that I would love to meet GOD (inshAllah one day) and Manu Chao.

Music:

I love manu chao, I can always listen to him. But I also really love Nasheeds. I love music from all over the world. Call it my wanderlust.

Movies:

The Message, Snatch, Hum Dil De Chuke Sanaam, Shrek 1 & 2 (pero en espanol), anything by Mel Brooks, The Princess Bride, and Aladdin. And of course thousands more....

THIS IS A COURAGEOUS SCHOLAR PROTECTING HIS MOSQUE AND HIS PEOPLE, MAY ALLAHKEEP HIM STRONG AND SAFE.

THIS IS A QUICK LOOK AT SOME OF THE MIRACLES OF THE KORAN, INTERESTING AND SHORT

THIS IS A LONG LOOK AT SOME OF THE MYTHS AND MISCONCEPTIONS ABOUT ISLAM, VERYINFORMATIVE.

Television:

I randomly watch TV, but 9 times out of 10 its on TLC or NGC.

Books:

The Quran foremost, and then a billion others.

Heroes:

Anyone who follows their belief and does not stand in the way of others. I have found Truth and I want to give dawa'a but that doesn't mean I can't respect someone who believes something else.
You are a WAHHABI. Things are only only black and
white, right or wrong in this literal world.
Everyone around you is a big fat kafir. You
may need professional help.
