About Me

About me:

I was an only child - born to a father from Detroit and a mother from England. Being a military brat, I went to over 12 schools and moved so many places. I never felt "attached" to my surroundings and always knew I'd never see anyone I'd meet again. At age 5, I had my own house keys and learned *never* to be dependant on others to let me in.

Today, my parents are deceased, and their spirits encourage me to move on. I have a few relatives left on the East Coast and in England who I see once every 5-10 years. Holidays, esp. Thanksgiving and Christmas, are very difficult for me alone, but otherwise I'm typically fine.

Ironically, I enjoy being alone and doing my own thing. Yes, I can be standoffish as I deal with social anxiety and shyness. I'm somewhat like Greta Garbo in those ways. But if I feel your warmth and unconditional loving acceptance, I will likely open up and be comedic.

It's not my goal to be popular as people come and go - no one is worth impressing. Plus, you'll just look fake and often waste your time. I just stick to my guns, march to my own beat, and allow writing to be my open door to the outside.

I am not much for dating, but I am only open to it if the person is extraordinary and compassionate. He must love dogs and his family. I still haven't found anyone quite like that. I believe in meeting nice people through friends - not the internet, personals, bars, and clubs. Your friends will tell you good "references." Otherwise, if a person is flirting with you online, he's flirting with everyone. Therefore, he can't be trusted.

Otherwise, you can read my interests and hobbies on the left side of your monitor.

You'll find me at a slew of local live shows -with my camera - in my own little world - motivated to write.

I can't end this essay enough by sharing how I have the coolest most compassionate, loving, understanding, patient, warm - ***VERSATILE*** - friends in the world. I'm a lucky gal !

C'est si bon, tu sais.

Heroes:

Here are people who matter THE WORLD TO ME who've inspired me to change these last few years:

Rest in Peace to my parents, Uncle Mitch (passed 2004) and Aunt Pam - I miss & love you all to this day.

Uncle Mitch, you taught me to focus on the good of people where as the "bad" becomes blinding.

Had it not been for you, I would never have known what a gentleman is, what everlasting relationships are about, and that there are still kind, compassionate men in this world who are unfortunately overshadowed by "lost boys' clothes."

My great-aunt Marie - who's like a grandmother to me. I never knew my grandparents, and she never had children. We're tight.

The Railbenders - re-introducing me back to the world of great fun old school country music and respectful, mature, compassionate, loving people. From the moment I met you guys, I instantly felt like "family."

My family in NY, PA, and England - At one point in life, I called you "relatives." Now I can call you "family."

SpartacusRob (Robert T.) - I'd done know where to begin, but there's never an end of kind things I could say about you.

Meeting Saucy Dame (Paula), Karen, and Susan P.

- I don't know if it's because we have "like" minds, good tastes, or what. But always - thank you for putting up and looking out for me. I have very few "mature" friends, and you're the a part of the few.

And most importantly, : Those who save lives and restore positivity in others. Firemen, police, soldiers, teachers, doctors, nurses, pastors, counselors, parents who adopt, hospice, etc.
