About Me

Lu Angel started music life in Bristol, recording her first track,'obsession' with Dave Cocaine. Life was littered with trouble and fun workin the party scene there. Long live the Trinity! On returning to glasgow, she couldn't shake the music bug. Never being someone to sit back and having had enough of standing behind techy's while they wrote tunes,she went and got some education in computer music from SWAMP Studios and North Glasgow College. Along the way she's worked with some great musicians and DJs, Jack Bruce(Cream),Derek Forbes(Simple Minds,Propaganda,Four Good Men), Sneeze, Covalent, Sola Perplexus,Dj Soppa(radio 1 extra),The Barons of South Columbia,The Funkheisen Hangover Band(check em out on the link)and many more. She works with DJs, accoustic guitarists, jazz musicians, electro heads,artists,photographers, anyone with talent and up for a challenge.
I'm singing with The Mosa Funk Club at the moment with gigs galore set up for the year ahead.

Influences: I'm a full time Nichiren Daishonin Buddhist. It's the mainstay of my life. The rythym of my music.Daisaku Ikeda of Soka Gakkai International is my main influence. The idea of the human revolution as a way to change the world. Each of us have the power!!!Nam Myoho Renge Kyo.I take my cues from my environment. Paint a musical picture of what i see or hear or feel. When beat reflects the melody, reflects the harmony, reflects the lyrics, reflecting whatever instrument introduced,thats a perfect song for me. Ego has to be forgotten in the quest for a moving piece of work. To be able to portray emotion through rythym and melody is every musicians goal. Oh I hope I don't sound too wanky, its how I see music o;)Kate Bush, Bjork, Peter Gabriel, Otis Redding, Candy Staton,Peaches,Iggy Pop,The Rolling Stones,Outcast, Gorillaz,Jill Scott,Di Angelo,Faithless,Prince,The Roots,Roni Size,De La Soul, Blondie.......wow it's hard to slim it down! If it's got funk, if the art is unavoidable or if it's kickin ass and dirty with it,I'll love it.
