About Me

Moving into a fresh indoor space from the outer phrenetic rushing is something you do as a matter of course up in Milan, Italy. That isn’t to say this state of mind cannot be used as a basis for music. H-gallery root about a temporary balance between inner reflection and external tension, in which glowing electronic pop explosions punctuate the new-old wave allure.H-gallery may be a combo, where Paolo takes care of bass, synths, samples and uncertain vocals, and Giorgio hits drums and rules rhythms programming, both mixing and producing . Although this has prevented them for playing any live shows, they have no immediate plans to do so anyway with the actual line-up.Both have emerged from previous collaborations, (the seminal and recently revaluated Aus Decline, Cast of Thousands) and decided to form H-gallery after a couple of vinyl trips to Manchester.Their only release to date is a demo EP, “Every morning after (the way we play)”. “The three tracks on it kind of represent different sides of what we do “, says Paolo. “The title track is a dancefloor pop single thing with echoes of Brian Ferry, Monochrome Set and Simple Minds” adds Giorgio, “ ‘Heavenly isolated’ is dark space urban music, and ‘The other way’ is basically a love song from remaining parts of Interpol and Depeche Mode”.These are songs you could live without but surely it’s much harder if you have already scrolled twice or three times your MP3 pod’s wheel and pressed “play” right on H-gallery.With an album in the songwriting department, the next step is to secure a label to put it out, but it’s early days yet. H-gallery may not be bringing their world into yours yet, (“We might do some live shows next spring, as soon as we track interesting musicians to be involved” suggests Paolo, “and we could even think of a female-led vocal version of H-Gallery”), but that’s not to say you won’t be going out to meet them in theirs.
