About Me

Spirit of the Baker is a non-profit organization that focuses on the preservation of the Baker Hotel in Mineral Wells, Texas. Our primary role is to provide information to the public about the hotel's rich history and architecture whenever possible. We support all groups that share our love for the hotel and are willing to volunteer their time, effort and materials to help keep the building secure and free of vandals and trespassers. We support the Keep Mineral Wells Beautiful campaign, and we do our best to make sure that the grounds are clean, mowed and as aesthetically pleasing as possible.
Mission: The Spirit of the Baker welcomes and supports all people in their love for the Baker Hotel.
To support this endeavor, the Spirit of the Baker provides brochures and a website as a way to introduce and get others interested in the preservation efforts.
The Spirit of the Baker's purpose is to help save the Baker Hotel and restore it to its original glory. The restoration of the hotel will also help the beautification efforts made by the citizens of Mineral Wells and the Palo Pinto County communities. The objective is to make sure that the Baker Hotel will be around to bring joy and fascination to countless generations for many years to come.
As far as the paranormal stuff goes, well, yes, we believe in ghosts. If you don't believe, we are fine with that. Skepticism is very healthy. All we ask is that if you disagree with our hobby, please overlook it for the sake of saving the Baker Hotel.
