Growing up in a city (Toledo, Oh) of hustlers, violence and drugs pushed the three to form a group (which was originally called High Class) in summer of 2003. Renny & Mike were always the producers before rapping even came into the picture. R. King (Racoreo Wright) (Renny & Marc's big brother) & Dre were the ones to step up & finally put the unused beats to use, & they also convinced Renny to rap. R. King & Marc was always rapping, but was never really taking it serious. Yung Marco (Marcus Taylor), R. King & Renny's youngest brother, recorded his raps on an tape player when he was only 6 which was very lyrical to be his age. He became extremely talented with rhyming through out the years . It started with not even making beats & writing average sixteen bar verses to selling CD's and mixtapes throughout the city and being labled as some of the best in the city. As time has grown, so has the roster. Already equipped with soldiers, Renny Rey, Dre T., Mike Deezle, Yung Marco, R. King, & David Dollar, Renny happened to meet Sonny Ray (Sonny Ray Whitfield), who has been rapping since the age of 10, his sophomore year at Jesup W. Scott High School and didnt know he rapped until a mixtape was put out of the blue. Sonny & Renny always been cool with each other as classmates, which came a day that Sonny told Renny, "If you need another soldier, just let me know". Since then he has been apart of the GP family, debuting on Renny's second solo underground album (Hustler Acadamy), countless songs by himself & with the Grand Profit family. He also has mixtapes of his own, & albums already out & soon to come under the Grand Profit logo.
With Da P-Gang being involved with Sonny Ray, he has brought another hot spitter & producer to the table, D. Turner (Davion Turner), who has also been rapping since the age of 10. D. Turner is like a brother to Sonny, & Sonny is like a brother to the Grand Profit family, so D was gladly accepted as a member. It is now 2007 and Grand Profit Productions have plans to try to make moves, get their music heard, & touch the industry to shine worldwide. Not ones to sits still for long, all members of this family plans to release mixtapes & albums in the future, signed or unsigned.
