ROCKY

Born Rondell Thomas the artist you know as "ROCKY" seems to be destined for greatness, if you were to ask his peers in his hometown of Toledo,Ohio. The Glass City has been a stomping ground for Rocky's entertaining lyrics for many years now.He got his first break locally in the well known OHIO rap group "The Vetz".13 and 14 seemed to young for boys to be rapping about violence,sex and drugs but it seemed right to them because that was only a meer image of what was going on around them.The Vetz buzz around the buckeye state began growing rapidly in 2004! Rocky was never known as the front man in the group so in his eyes growing into a better artist became a must! In 2005 rocky released his self titled mixtape which instally became a city-wide Trendsetter with its personal songs as well as his hard tracks, dissing other local rappers in the city who he had problems with! Those dis tracks sparked lots of violence in Toledo and also a great hype for this young rapper. While soaking up all of the hype Rocky dropped his 2nd Mixtape Later that year.Rocky's Mixtape Vol.2 didnt spark as much energy as his 2nd one because he strayed away from the hard diss records n kept it young fly and flashy.So an eagar Rocky took a break from rapping and focused on school.He played football at Woodward High School hoping that would get him into college.His love for music was still there so he used his head and released a more real and story telling mixtape. That mixtape set rocky aside from all the other rappers in his city because unlike them he let his listeners into his life,rapping about personal issue that other rappers in the city were scared or maybe nervous to discuss in a song.Music was now the front runner of Rocky's life because of the reactions he got from fellow peers. In 2006 Rocky commitited to play football for Division 3's Heidelberg College in Tiffin Ohio.While in Tiffin Rocky was wishing he was doin what he loved and that was make music.So Rocky quit the football team and later dropped out of college because of family issue's dealing with his sick mother.Being back in Toledo gave Rocky a breath of fresh air. Over the years alot of people told him he has what it takes to make it.With that in his head Rocky called apon his Vet Brothers figuring if he was to make he would love it to be with them. So in 2007 The Vetz realeased "Crack", which brought them back in the scence in Toledo where rapping and music in general changed drasticly since there last cd.Crack did great on the streets but the Group was chastide for not staying in there lane and keep there music "STREET" like they did in there early years.So the group planed to release another cd right after that but had no success with recording it due to the lack of preparation within them.In the summer of 2007 Rocky moved to ATLANTA,GA to persue music more.He plans to be a forced to be recking with in the dominating South.Rocky feels if he keeps his music personal but understanding that he can run with big dogs there.
