DJ Boogi (born Anthony Dow) grew up around music since his early days as a child. DJ Boogi's mother & father continuously bought and played records around the house such as Rick James (who was also a close friend of the family R.I.P), Michael Jackson, and Luther Vandross, just to name a few. Most of the tracks DJ Boogi was exposed to are still played around the World today. The first record he ever purchased was a now rare copy of A.B.C. (Another Badd Creation). Some of you might know of them, but most of you won't. His LOVE towards DJing started when he received a Fisher Price Turntable (with the different colored vinyl) early one Christmas morning. His interest in music was further sparked after becoming addicted to televisions most infamous groove hour, "Soul Train". Intrigued by a lack of musicians on the show and wondering where the music was coming from, DJ Boogi had a revelation, "Hey! I'm gonna act like I'm the one playing the music. I'll be the DJ". Ever since then, as a little kid, it has been his DREAM to be able to play music to make people dance, smile, and enjoy themselves no matter what type of music was played. "I feel I have a good sense of reading the crowd so my music selection is very dynamic", states DJ Boogi. "As long as at the end of my performance, my audience had fun and left wanting more, I know I've succeeded", proclaims DJ Boogi. He has been given the chance to do what he LOVES and continues doing it throughout Southern California's most popular clubs.
