DJ Wille Shakes was born Jeff Cannady in the mid '80s to a single mother. Coming from the harsh streets of Ill Mil(Wright ST to be exact) Shakes used music as an outlet. Shakes started out playing drums in the church to rapping and beat making to DJin. As far as rapping goes Shakes influences were Jay-Z, Big L, Canibus, LL Cool J and Baby Drew. DJ Willie Shakes has over 25 mixtapes under his belt;3's UP mixtape hosted by Rico Love, Hi Haters co-hosted by his self and Yung Joc, Where U At mixtape(PaperChase) hosted by him and Ray Nitti's Death Of A Prince to name a few. He also worked with Diddy, Mario, B-5, Pee Wee Kirkland, Hollow(Freestyle Friday Champ), Cincere, Ray Rizzy, Lah Kid and a number of local other local aspiring artists. Growing up in Milwaukee was hard. Its just like every other hood in America;no fathers, black on black violence, teenage pregnancy, no employment opportunities etc. but through it all Shakes set goals and accomplished 'em. Aside from all the music shit, he graduated from Milwaukee Tech, he's has done a lot work for the community via Urban Underground etc. So if there is any kid that is reading this out there remember to stay in school and it doesn't matter where you're from, you can do anything. Keep GOD FIRST!!
