All you'll ever need to know about me

About Me

Hello everyone. Thanks for stopping by my page. Take some time to read my profile and get to know a bit about me:
My name is "NOY" ,
but I'm also known by "KAIRA", "THUONG", "MEI", "SARAH", "LOVE", or "SONG" .
No--I don't suffer from Multiple Personality Disorder :)
The aliases are just a reflection of my unique cultural/ethnic backgrounds.
I am an interesting mixture of LAOTIAN , (East)-INDIAN , and FRENCH-CREOLE ("Maroque") .
First and foremost, I am a mother of two amazing little ones: my daughter, Ketana is 3. My son, Christopher "Thanh" is 20 months old.
My passion is learning about world cultures.
I love to sing ,
but most of my background is in performing:
Polynesian, Filipino (Tinikling), traditional Thai/Lao/Khmer,
and West-African dances.
I speak fluent LAO , THAI , and ENGLISH , Advanced SPANISH and VIETNAMESE , and Intermediate JAPANESE .
I was blessed with a very diverse and humble upbringing.
From picking worms and berries, to dishwasher, to USDA microbiology lab tech, to the entertainment industry;
I've had some rather interesting "jobs" that most people don't know even exist.
I helped run a dental lab, and am currently in the process of reinstating my Realtor's license in two different states.
I have resided in amazing mansions , and I have been homeless .
There are few things in this world I dislike,
however,
I do not tolerate abuse of any sort to humans or animals and
I refrain from the use of any type of drugs or alcohol .
I'm a bit eclectic/hippy -- Growing up in Oregon can do that to you.
I'm a t-shirt and sweats kind of girl;
definitely not high-maintenance or materialistic;
I enjoy and appreciate the simple things in life .
  • I was born in: THAILAND , and lived in the PHILIPPINES before being sponsored to the U.S.

  • I have lived in: CORVALLIS and PORTLAND (OR), STOCKTON , OAKLAND , COSTA MESA , GARDEN GROVE , and LONG BEACH , (CA), KALIHI (HI), LAS VEGAS (NV), ORLANDO , MIAMI , HIALEAH , and HOLLYWOOD (FL).

  • I have also: driven cross-country twice, making a complete "X" across the UNITED STATES and Northern MEXICO --
    I've made friends, lovers, and enemies from Seattle to New York City;
    So I guess you could say that I've been around :p

  • I love: My family, the arts, science, language, music, travel, culture, comedy, and FOOD.

  • I am: a romantic and devout optimist.
    I'm a non-conformist; I'm very liberal.
    I believe true happiness is worth going beyond the restraints and restrictions of societal norms to attain.
    Although I have no tattoos or piercings (besides my ears), I'm all for body art, personal expression, and individuality.

  • I retain a firm belief in:
    1) Fate/destiny, (but its power is limited by our ability to choose)
    2) Conservation and green peace (Environmental concerns)
    3) Humanity towards all living things
    and
    4) The "Six Degrees of Separation" or "Small World" theory--
    (Hence, I'm finding long-lost friends all the time, right here on MySpace!)

  • Thanks again to those of you who care enough to take the time to read this far. I appreciate it. XOXO.
