Autumn, 2005. A chilly breeze blew through the room, sending a few dried leaves up and spiraling, and eventually making their way to the rug at the back of the room. These unassuming leaves had no idea what they were getting into, for it would seem that a new rock powerhouse was rehearsing its first set of songs. After finishing with "You Won't Forget About Me", the then-unnamed band that would become The Stomps began work on "Ballad of an Underachiever." The leaves that floated their way ever-so-gently into the room were soon completely pulverized by the incredible wave of sound that was "Ballad", and by the time The Stomps began work on "I've Been Causin Trouble", the leaves were nothing more than dust in the wind. However, in an entirely more profound way than Kansas ever sang about.
