I am here for Friends

About Me

Check out curtisandkim.com or saltboxphotography.com!I live in Los Angeles with my adorable husband and fabulous dogs. The husband? Met in college. He treats me like a princess and takes good care of me. I love him to the ends of the earth. The little dog? Brilliant. A tiny blue chihuahua, she spends all of her time worshipping me and wanting to cuddle with me. When we go out she finds a hundred other people to love, and then bites all small children. (She tries to keep the space around me kid-free. And I love her for that.) The big dog? She's a battering-ram of a french bulldog, but sweet, delightful, and resilient. She tries to adore me, but gets distracted by Curtis' fabulosity. Are we seeing a running theme here? Yes, Leos love to be worshipped. :)

My Interests

I've been an actor practically since the day I was born. I started talking at 7 months, and shortly after that (okay, maybe a couple of years after that, but definitely by age 4) I was helping my parents learn lines to their various plays and musicals. I act, I sing, I dance; I appear in every musical I can get my grubby little hands on. Photography is high on my list, and the scrapbooking that keeps the memories organized. Web building is lots of fun, and my latest interests are my frenchie and my adorable blue huahua!!

I'd like to meet:

Anyone with a truly open mind is at the top of my like-to-meet list. And the cast of Harry Potter.

Music:

I like everything but hip-hop and rap.

Movies:

Harry Potters!, The American President, Medicine Man, Finding Nemo, Austin Powers, Groundhog Day, Doc Hollywood, Identity, The Exorcist III, Back to the Future Trilogy, The Rocky Movies, The Superman Movies, The Indiana Jones Trilogy, and The Star Wars Trilogy. Also high on my list are any fun cult classics that I used to watch with my Dad as a kid, back when my biggest aspiration was to be a tomboy. Examples: Enemy Mine, Yellowbeard, Beastmaster.

Television:

Golden Girls and Cops. (What a combination, eh?)

Books:

Anything from the Folger Shakespeare Library NEEDS to be on my shelf, with the accompanying Cliff's Notes. The Harry Potter series is AWESOME, and hey, you. Read Conversations with God. You need to.

Heroes:

My husband is my biggest hero. He's the most amazingly objective and emotionally-aware person I've ever met. He's careful with me, he doesn't blame me when I make a mistake, and he always treats me like a princess on a velvet pillow. With his help, I'm learning to treat people like that, too.

Is it Los Angeles?

Most of you know that we're homeless right now. We've been homeless before, and I'm not entirely sure why this particular homelessness is so upsetting to me.   I think it's because I was inc...

the loft that's no longer our home

When we moved to L.A. nearly 5 years back, we had a big romantic notion of this city.  We wanted to take it by the horns and ride it.   We've done that, in other ways than we intentiona...

separation makes the heart grow smarter

Strange.  As much as I love him (and you all know I do) I was pretty much waiting anxiously for Curtis to make his trip to Pennsylvania.  I was raised an only child, and all this "togetherne...

Seriously Smart.

First and foremost, allow me to say that I am currently feeling like the worst mother ever.  But I'm getting over it because Molly is fine. This morning Molly and I went to Runyon Canyon with Jul...

Journaling, Fear and Big Fish

I've been noticing lately that fear is a running theme in my life.  If you had asked me a month ago, I would have said that I'm not afraid of anything.  But it turns out that I have been all...

Molly had her first experience with grass today.  As she grew up (ha) uh... as she began her life in Pennsylvania where it's been 20 degrees, she's always gone on pee pads.  Now that she's m...
