I am still working on finding out all about me. That's what 2007 is all about. I am about halfway through my second year in NYC and things are really starting to happen. I just moved to Bay Ridge with my poodle and one of the most amazing people on Earth, Viv.I have always been into many different things at the same time but my life feels like it is coming full circle now. Music is the center of my universe. And the time for long vocal warm ups and practice, practice, practice to come back into the picture.I love animals, good laughs and people with sincere hedonistic tendencies. I find that this city provides ample opportunity for new experiences and I am very into discovering as many of them as possible. For the first time, I am feeling pretty good at what lies ahead.

My Interests

What a hard questions to answer: (In no particular order)I love Yankees baseball. I am a baseball fan in general but I must admit to a loathing for the Red Sox and a mild annoyance with the Mets.I am a political science geek and I love to debate. I especially like debating people who have complete opposite opinions from mine.Music, Music, Music and theatre. All kinds of music interest me. My biggest loves right now would be The East Village Opera Company, the cast of Rockstar: Supernova, and Aimee Mann. But ask me tomorrow, it'll change.I also love movies, animals, reading, fashion, religion (studying not so much practicing), changing my hair color, meeting new people, knitting, eating out and many many other things.

I'd like to meet:

I am always looking to meet new people. I like funny people, fun people and people who know new and exciting ways to have fun :)People in the music industry are always a welcome addition as well as people who just genuinely love music.

Music:

This is SO like asking a kid in a candy store which is their favorite.I have an unreal amount of music on my computer right now ranging from Alabama to Pink Floyd with some Ravel thrown in. Here are some albums I could not live without:Christine Lavin "Future Fossils" Live "Throwing Copper" Anything by the Rolling Stones pre 1990 U2 "How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb" The original Cast recording of Chess Sarah McLachlan "Mirrorball" Gretchen Wilson "All Jacked up" The Soundtrack to Center Stage Moster Ballads (sad, I know) Suzy Bogguss "Aces" Kelly Clarkson "Breakaway" (I am not ashamed that I love this album) Anastacia "Freak of Nature" Bad Religion "Generator" Maroon 5 "songs About Jane" Alanis Morissette "Jagged Little Pill" Carol King "Tapestry" Alice Cooper "Welcome to My Nightmare"And tons more I will add as I think of them

Movies:

Again hard to say but in particular order (as I know I will keep adding): The Rocky Horror Picture Show, 13 Going on 30, Pretty in Pink, The Breakfast Club, A Beautiful Mind, The Wizard of Oz, The Dark Side of the Moon, Run Lola Run, The Shining, The Stand, Jesus Christ Superstar, Godspell, Rent, Gentlemen Prefer Blondes, The Producers, Some Like it Hot, An Officer and a Gentleman, The Boondock Saints, Friday, Dogma, Mallrats, Clerks, Chasing Amy up until she decides she's not gay, THE SECRETARY, anything starring Jenna Jameson.

Television:

Rockstar: Supernova is my BIG summer obsession. I also love Grey's Anatomy, So You Think You Can Dance, Desperate Housewives, Degrassi, 90210, Big Love, Sex and the City, Carnivale (stupid HBO), and many others. Thank God for Tivo

Books:

I LOVE Philippa Gregory! Other faves include Tracy Chevalier, Anne Rice, Janet Evanovich, Irving Stone, Paulo Coelho, Candace Bushnell. Some greatest hits: Veronika Decides to Die, The Agony and the Extasy, The Other Boleyn Girl, The Virgin Blue, 11 Minutes, I am Charlotte Simmons.

Heroes:

I have been fortunate enough to meet and witness many people who are hero worthy. Kofi Annan has long been my hero because, despite his imperfections, he wants the UN to work.I am also in awe of every rape victim I have ever counseled as well as people living with AIDS. These are the unsung heroes who find a reason to get out of bed every morning when it seems like all hope is lost.I also look up to Nelson Mandela, Bono, and many many others who have the strength to stand up for what they believe in. More personal heroes include my mother who has had one hell of a few months and shown me what real strength looks like. Belen who is never afraid to tell the truth even when it hurts. Tracy, who has found love and family and is still cool and inspiring. Caroline for sticking with me when she should have fled and always telling me when I act crazy. And Vivian for trusting me when I know how hard that is for her.You are ALL my heroes.

How long until you feel you belong here?

So, I saw my very first real Queens hookers tonight.  They were standing in the street harassing anyone who slowed down.  One of them was even kind of cute.  If I didnt think they would...
