Most recent award: 2007 Slade Prize for the best poem published in "The Griot: Journal of African American Studies" in 2007. I am good, but GOD is greater!
Works will be featured in the "If Poetry Journal" in 2008, the "African American Appalachian Heritage Journal" 2008, and in "The Griot..." 2008.
Most recent accomplishment: Cast in the Aldridge Repertory Theatre's production of the musical, "Rhythm & Roots".
I encourage each of you reading this to "Elevate in 2008" because that's what I'm doing. I'm getting rid of the weeds to get to what God has for me. Peace and power to the people.

Music that is rich in African characteristics. I love soulful music, music with a message, and such. Being brought up under Gospel music, it's my fave. Check out this sista from the March on Washington, 8/28/63:
