Island Girl Candy (Till 1-15-07)

If you think the ocean is great, you should try HIS Living Water!!!

About Me

My name is Candy but more importantly, I am a chld of the most High King ... the creator of the universe and all things. I love Jesus; He is my friend and my Saviour. I would not be here today if not for Jesus and those awesome people that He has put in my life to help me.
I'm married to a great guy. We have four awesome dogs that are like children to us. My husband's mother and sister live with us ... so we have a full house. ;) I learn so much from our special dog who is now blind. He has such a wonderful attitude about everything and he is so cute and snuggly ... and he always shows me unconditional love! :)
My mother is still alive (she's 85 years old) and I love her dearly. I have two much older sisters and a much older brother.I live in MS but long to live on the beach ... preferably a tropical island. :)
I'm not perfect and never will be, but I'm forgiven ... and always will be! I pray a lot and I'm dancing as fast as I can.
In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth ... He created every living creature, every thing that has breath and all of the beauty of this earth, He created for us. For me, the beauty that our Heavenly Father has given us is beyond words. I can see His work in the tiniest blade of grass to the vast oceans that cover the majority of this earth. When I am sitting on a quiet shoreline of the sea, just Jesus and me, I can hear Him whispering through the gentle lapping of each wave that kisses the shore. Yes, He is with me no matter where I am but Jesus and I have a very special bond that I experience in the deepest of my spirit and soul ... when we are at the beach together. It's our special place! :) This is why "the beach" means so much to me.

My Interests

Edit video online at onetruemedia.com

These are a few of my favorite things:

Bible studies. Traveling. Snorkeling, shelling and beachcombing. Islands. Beaches. The tropics. Florida. Tennis. Hiking. Did I mention that I love the beach, any beach ... and all things connected to the beach, the ocean, etc.? I like watching people surfing and I like to surf the net. :)

I enjoy being with my family, which of course includes my dogs. I enjoy being with friends (online and off). I like mowing the yard (sometimes, when it's not too hot). hehe I love to eat! :D I like to shop, especially for shoes. I like to daydream about livng on an island mostly. ;) I like flea-markets, fairs, and other outdoor events. I like to fish occassionally or play with the metal detector. I enjoy computer games when I am bored, and I love doing jigsaw puzzles on the computer. I really love road trips ... although even a trip to Walmart is a road trip from where I live. LOL I like people watching and to wonder how much different their life is from mine. Anything that is basically down to earth ... I like it or I'll try to like it. :) I wish I was brave, like when I was younger, then I would love to skydive, surf, scubadive, windsurf, etc. I guess I'm just too old now to do a lot of things that I really want to do and too poor to do many others. LOL

I like sunny days; I like thunderstorms; I like watching the clouds; I like the deep, rich colors of nature after a rainfall; I like the smell of: rain, puppies breath, spring, roses, coffee brewing, cotton candy, caramel corn, freshly mowed grass, birthday cakes, new books, old wet wood, tennis balls, and the ocean; I like listening to the rain fall; I love the wind (the feel and the sound), I love the sound of the waves kissing the shore; I like the feel of sand beneath my feet (and between my toes), the sun on my face, the sting of cold winter wind on my face, the warmth of a bonfire on cold winter nights (especially when there is snow).

I especially love hearing, seeing, smelling and feeling God's presence in all the "little things" in life.

I'd like to meet:

Music Video: SIDE BY SIDE (by Rebecca St. James)

I'd like to meet David, Jonathan, and Esther, Mary, Martha, Deborah, Mary (Jesus' mother)...(you know who they are). Also, Alexander Selkirk and Tami Oldham Ashcraft, Robert Dean Frisbie, Lucy Irvine, Hallie Erminie Rives, and Tom Neale. I'd also like to meet (in person) my online friends: Bernie, Jo, Susan E., all my friends involved with LAA Ministries, AIIM, GIM and all my Paltalk and myspace friends! I'd also like to meet Karen Wheaton, Beth Moore, Kay Arthur, Joyce Meyer, Kathy Troccoli, Juanita Bynum, Judy Jacobs and a few other people who have influenced me ... but there's no chance of that happening.

Music:

I like a large variety of music. I like some country music and some older rock/pop music. I like oldies sometimes and can even listen to tropical tunes. I do like older songs with a "beachy" theme, like The Beach Boys, etc. and even some Jimmy Buffett. Some musical soundtracks are good, if I'm in the mood. I mostly listen to Christian music.

Some of my favorite Christian artists:

Susan E.Waldrop , Martha Munizzi, Mary Alessi, Karen Wheaton, Juanita Bynum, Selah, Nicol Sponberg, Natalie Grant, Judy Jacobs, Janie Aduddell, Casting Crowns, Hillsongs, Don Moen, Ginger Smith, Babbie Mason, Jeremy Camp, Jaci Velasquez, Ray Boltz, Nicole C. Mullen, Dennis Jernigan, Twila Paris, Michael W. Smith, Keith Green, Phillips, Craig and Dean, Kristy Sterling, Rebecca St.James, and Donnie McClurkin.

There are a lot of new Christian artists out there who are truly gifted. My VERY favorite is Will and Crystal Yates. Their music has deeply touched my heart and soul. God has certainly blessed them with mighty, mighty gifts. Check out their song on my site and check out their other songs on their site. Their first CD has recently been released "Dwell Here" and it is totally awesome! They will bless your socks off! Yeah!!! Will and Crystal Yates

Movies:

I like a variety of types of movies but lately it's been hard to find many movies that really impress me. I like movies that are based on true stories. I like all movies that are filmed on or near the ocean, the beach, the tropics, etc... because of the scenery. I like some comedies and some of the older musicals. I love movies that touch my heart and soul.

A few movies that I can think of right now that I like a lot are:
Steel Magnolias, The Sound of Music, Cast Away (one of my very favs!), Finding Nemo, Into the Blue, White Squall, The Perfect Storm, The Beach (parts of this one they should have left out), The Bodyguard, Annie, Shrek, Somewhere in Time, The Passion of the Christ, Narnia, Me,Myself and Irene, Themla and Louise, It's a Bug's Life, Sleepless in Seattle, Meet The Fockers, Titanic, Miss Congeniality and Miss Congeniality 2, The Princess Diaries and the second one, Ocean's Eleven and Twelve, A River Runs Through It, Meet Joe Black, The Postman, Dances With Wolves, Braveheart, The Silence of the Lambs, Forest Gump, The Prince of Egypt, ... Ya Ya Sisterhood, Notting Hill, Pirates of the Caribbean, A Beatiful Mind, Erin Brockovich, Girl Interrupted, Bridget Jones Diary and The Edge of Reason, The Patriot, Twister, The Green Mile, Legally Blonde, Philadelphia.

Television:

I don't watch a lot of tv but I DO watch "Survivor" and "LOST". Those two are on my list of "must see" or "must tape". I like movies on LMN and Hallmark and Disney sometimes ... though I don't like to watch the same movie 10 times. LOL

Some regular shows that I like and watch occassionally are:

Cold Case, CSI, Grey's Anatomy, Law and Order:SVU, Without A Trace, DateLine, 60 Minutes, The Amazing Race and a few others. Every now and then I like to watch shows on the Discovery Channel, Travel Channel, History Channel, the Water Channel, TLC, the Food Network and National Geographic. I don't watch much sports on TV anymore; sometimes I'll watch the Olympics and tennis. Every now and then I will even watch news shows. LOL (I'm still praying for Natalee Holloway!) Oh, I also like sitcoms but can't seem to find many good ones on lately.

Books:

THE Bible!
My very favorite Christian authors are:

Beth Moore, Joyce Meyer, Stormie Omartian and Susan E. Waldrop ("My Whispers")

Some of my other favorite Christian authors include:

Max Lucado, Kay Arthur, C.S. Lewis, Henry Cloud, Charles Stanley, James Dobson, T.D. Jakes, Neil T. Anderson, Henry Blackaby and Robert McGee, and Ann Kagarise. These are not the only great authors, just the ones I can think of right now.

Also, you guessed it ... I like books about true stories involving castaways or other maritime events. I also like books by Randy Wayne White. I don't take time to read a lot anymore but we listen to audio books when we travel (mostly mysteries, dramas, etc. whatever my sister in-law wants to listen to).
