Art...isn't it interesting there's no entry for artists?? My favorite artists all seem to be illustrators; Edward Gorey, Charles Addams, Bret Helquist, N.C. Wyeth, Hiromu Arakawa (manga-ka of Fullmetal Alchemist), Marc Davis (Disney animator who did the character designs for The Pirates of the Caribbean and The Haunted Mansion), Tim Burton, Gris Grimly.I also love Peter Max, Rembrandt, Tissot, and 19th century folk portraiture like one sees (still?) in the antique shops along Royal Street in New Orleans. I used to like the Pre-Raphaelites, but they've been played out over the last 10 years. I do like Aubrey Beardsley, who really ran a thin line between the beautiful and the grotesque.Japanese pop culture, Really good food, CLOTHES, beauty in all its different guises, History, people.
