My name is Jake D Wenzel, and no that D doesn't stand for anything. I was born in Orange County, Califronia, I've done quite a bit of moving in my life, since my dad's in the navy. So I can't really call any of the places I've lived home but my home is with my family.
I'm 18, turning 19 in December, graduating from NRHS in June, can't wait for that. I can't wait to get out of Virginia, though the time I've spent in this state has been the most defining time of life. I found out who I truly am here.
Once I had this idea of what I wanted my life to be. When I was a kid, back in elementary school, I wanted to be a pilot in the navy. Back then I was on a Naval base in California. I entertained the thought of being a pilot until I hit the 8th grade, where in I had no clue what I wanted to be. In nineth grade I discovered I had a nack for architectual drawing, and have been looking to become an architect, or another career in that field since.
It was in 10th grade that I found a sort of haven in writing. I experienced my first heartbreak then, and found a way to vent it and share it with people through writing. Of course then I didn't think it was all that great until I entered a prose competition at the school and won at the state level. Since then I've been writing prose and poems about things I've experienced and I've had a lot of them published in magazines and poetry novels.
But poetry and prose isn't where I draw the line when it comes to writing. Since the 4th grade, my teacher had us write short stories on a weekly basis and mine were always the best and my teacher always congradulated me, emboldening me to write bigger and better things. I've been writing stories in a wide aray of genres, it wasn't till 10th grade that I found what I was truly best at and most interested in, Fantasy. Lord of the Rings type of stuff. I've written many, many short stories and have written novelas and many a series of shorts.
Currently I am working on a few written things: A novel, which is the first of five planned novels for the series. I plan to submit the manuscripts to publishing companies that accept them without a literary agent. The one company I am shooting for is Tor, one of the leading producers of Fantasy novels these days. If that doesn't work I plan to hire a literary agent in a couple of years. But I won't until I've finished the first novel. I'm also working on a movie script a close friend of mine convinced me to write. It's based on the life of Edward Teach, infamously known as Blackbeard the pirate. That is going well, and my friend has "connections" out there, so maybe you'll see that in the years to come. I'm always working on poetry and prose of course.
But as a person, I'm just that guy you see everywhere. Almost everyone knows me. I'm laid back for the most part, I love to have a good time. Partying, clubbing, whateva! But at the same time, I'm a deep individual, who has been around the block, if you get my meaning. I've got some great advice and I'm a great listener! However, I don't deal with highschool drama, I hate it, but it won't stop me from helping someone through a rough time.
And for the record, I'm not mexican! I'm not black,
I'm not white, I'm not indian (from india!),
though I may have these and many other races in my blood.
