About Me

I like tea, biscuits and warm blankets while it's rainy outside and I'm inside. I like Saturday and Sunday mornings, the Tube map, interior decorating, working out how things work, etymology, semi-colons and various other bits and bobs. I have occasionally old-fashioned taste in music (anything with guitars and brass is pretty darn awesome, in my opinion).
I currently live in London but am moving to Norwich in a month or two.
One of the nice things about my life is that when really horrible things happen to me, they're usually quite funny after they've stopped being quite so painful. My ex shacked up a ballet-dancing fitness instructor from Lowestoft. One time a scaffolding bar fell on my head. When I was little, a wasp stung me on the arse. I almost got fired on my first day of work as a theatre usher... thanks to Vanessa Feltz.
I love all things theatrical, and write and direct as often as I can. Last year I directed a production of "Macbeth" and acted in a production of "Twelve Angry Men", both of which went pretty well.
I've worked as a theatre usher, a Blockbuster Video peon, a housing advice guy, a high-pressured advertising executive - among other things.
I'm constantly finding beauty in the most random of things.
I'm a complex mesh of opposites - constant only in my inconstancy.
I rarely understand myself, so don't expect you to.
I don't mind if you don't like me.
Oh. Also, this is what happens if I get bored or have too much work to do:
And this is me playing the piano (Radiohead stuff):

My Interests

tomfoolery

I'd like to meet:

People in the London area, especially those who have similar interests to my own. I especially like people who use old, slightly dated words like "tomfoolery", "befuddled", "whippersnappers"... and anyone named Nebuchadnezzar. Anyone with a love of words and wordplay. Anyone who's retro or old-fashioned. Anyone.
