writing, reading. blue-gold outside, and the crops wallchart. headphones on the bus and just the song you wanted. gin. peppermint or other tea. dresses. laughing, quoting, quoting to someone new and them quoting straight back. skins (sob!). the smell of freesias and other flowers. talking good words to strangers. thinking everything's ok. duvet in the morning. hugs. having finally washed my jumper and its smell and new feel of sleeves. pencils, pencil sharpeners, crayons. cutting, sticking, colouring. essays coming together like jigsaws, jigsaws coming together like essays. sitting outside the meeting house in the sun, caramel freddoes and reading a little but talking more. raincoat. telling stories from right inside.

None of that, thanks. The aerial fell off the wall. Maybe on a hungover Sunday morning that's a shame. Otherwise, no.
Book club, soon. Just discovered Charlie and Lola. Also well into that frog and that toad. Not so much into the ant and the bee with a passion for the alphabet.Adaptations of Dostoyevsky, also, are not all they're cracked up to be.
