About Me

I Am Tetsuo formed in the early spring of 2006 with the intention of creating melodic and alternative music, fusing the spirit of the bands that influenced them. The current line-up consists of Kumar (vocals/Guitar), Sasi (guitar/vocals), Ram (guitar) and Dean (drums). Brothers Ram, Sasi and Kumar began playing together in their early teens joining up with friends along the way to form a band that would produce intense and melodic music. One of these encounters was with Dean who was already in another band and whom they met through a mutual friend. A strong friendship and musical unit was formed as the band continued to harness their sound through constant rehearsal and live shows.After losing long term bassist Raza, an event which nearly caused the implosion of the band in early 2006, Richard (a work colleague of Dean and Sasi) was asked to join, giving the band a new sense of hope and direction. And I Am Tetsuo was born. The band’s name is taken from the popular anime, Akira, a common favourite among the band members. On the strength of their live shows, their Lonely Hearts Club demo EP, and through the constant support of MySpace, I Am Tetsuo are now beginning to make their mark on the London circuit.
