Unbreakable!!!

About Me

BiographyBorn in Memphis, Tennessee and raised in Boston, Massachusetts Floyd Wilcox p/k/a Flip Matrix has done it all from record production to film scoring. He has worked with the likes of Scarface, Ice Cube, MC Ren, Capone and Noreaga, MOP, MC Lyte, WC and Jayo Felony just to name a few. With all that he has accomplished in hip hop he remains virtually unknown to the mainstream. In 1998 Flip was formally introduced to the hip hop community by "Lord Tariq & Peter Gunz", producing "Fiesta" and "Who am I" for the Grammy Award winning duo. Tariq and Gunz are best known for their 1998 smash "DeJa Vu", winning "Hip Hop Song of the year". He subsequently went on to work on many other hip hop projects. His production can be heard on "The Fix", an album Scarface released in 2002. He blessed the Gold album with "I Ain't The One", a song featuring west coast rap icon "WC". In that same year he teamed up with Dub to produce 4 songs on the "Ghetto Heisman". Flip shines on the album, displaying diversity as an up and coming producer. Dub C quoted "Flip brought out the best in me on this album", impressive considering he is from Boston. On "I Wanna Ride" Flip collaborates with legendary "NWA" members "Ice Cube" and "MC Ren". This west coast anthem is reminiscent of an era when the west coast dominated the hip hop scene. On "Bang Loose" he teams up with west coast soldiers, "Dr. Stank, Daville and Lady T" putting on a production clinic. On "Tha Get tagetha" featuring "Butch Cassidy" he displays diversity being from the east coast with the creativity to produce a vintage west coast track. On "Throw Ya Hood Up" east meets west to create a true masterpiece. On the other side of the country He combines forces with east coast reps "Capone and Noreaga" on the "Cradle 2 the Grave" soundtrack. "Stompdash*toutu" featuring "MOP" is a head banger, further illustrating his amazing diversity. Also illustrating Flips ability to adapt is his work on the "Face to Face" album released in 2001. Flip connects with pro ball player turned jazz bassist "Wayman Tisdale". "When I Opened My eyes" featuring "Out Of Eden" was the 1st single off this 1 contemporary jazz album.
