Above all I crave adventure. The first business I owned was tree-work. Not to be confused with tree trimming, I regularly took dangerous jobs where I had to use my ingenuity and tools to navigate branches dangling dangerously close to peoples homes with enough precision and planning as controlled demolitions that I quickly became sought after in my area for those types of jobs.
There were occasions when I had to use my three-foot chainsaw while hanging from ropes in 75 foot trees to rescue homes threatened from limbs weakened from a storm the night before and there were times when I had to balance myself on branches during storms where ice covered my foothold so thickly that I could only stand on the tree with spikes. I am a thrill seeker and I was thrilled to do it. It may sound a bit dramatic and extreme but it was a part of my everyday life until I became a father.
In June of ‘93 my son was born and with that my life changed dramatically. Risking my life daily was cast under a new light once I took on the responsibility of solely raising a child and I shifted gears towards fatherhood when I was served with papers from his mother shortly after his birth. If one were to meet me now it would probably be a stretch for them to think of this Mr. Mom as someone who risked his life on a day-to-day basis doing something he loved.
Letting go of that life became something I longed for. Not that I didn’t enjoy being a father but I did remember the past with enough nostalgia to realize that something was missing. I had enjoyed coining a niche and being sought after for my unique talent. While I didn’t want to risk my life again because of my new responsibilities I realized that there was a gap in my life which needed to be filled. My current wife Lisa changed that.
I have been happily married for 4 years to an amazing woman with three daughters who has introduced me to an incredible lifestyle and has renewed my faith in both family and God. She has taught me to dream again and revealed the strength and thrill of being in a partnership. Our home is always a place where I replenish and through a unified family and a solid business as a foundation I am continually growing as a man, father, and mentor and my passion for life and thrill seeking has been restored. I am now helping people achieve their goals and the passions important to them by introducing to them the lifestyle my wife introduced to me.
