About Me

MyGen Profile Generator Since the age of 5, Grace has enjoyed entertaining, for her friends, family, and the general public alike. And, as far as she is concerned, it is something that has always been (and always will be) a part of her life.Born in Nigeria From as young as age 3 Grace already loved dancing and singing around the house, so whenever her family went out to events and parties she would always be the first one on the dance floor performing for her relatives. They would then paste money across her forehead whilst she performed.Having people comment to her proud mother on how well she performed, she encouraged grace to continue entertaining and so, she caught the performance bug!Grace and her family moved from Nigeria to London when she was 6 years old and she started school, where she soaked up the music lessons. By the time she reached secondary school she had started playing the guitar, writing her own music and singing. Her mother, knowing how much she loved dancing and wanting to nurture Graces talent, enrolled Grace into dance school, which she attended in the evenings. Feeling as though she had found her niche, Grace truly loved attending the school and performing with other like-minded children. After finishing secondary school, Grace formed a vocal group with 5 of her closest friends called Shades. They wrote several songs together, some of which were performed live. However, after graduating and moving onto university the group disbanded.Despite the knowledge that the music scene had significantly changed over the years, and wasnt focused on black UK talent, but more on American acts, Grace was still determined to make her mark. Although coming from a dance background grace came to love music in much the same way, as this was part of her tool in dancing. Having done music throughout her teens she found that she had developed a talent for writing songs and melodys.Grace moved to Washington in 1999 to take time out and figure out what she wanted to do with her life and where she wanted to go with her music now a major force in her life. After 9 months, she moved back to London and started auditioning determined not let her talent go to waste! When called in for an audition with a record company called Rocket Records in Colne, Lancashire, Grace was asked to perform their audition piece Dont Cry For Me Argentina. Their A&R Manger Andy Delooze and one of their producers decided that that the audition piece did her voice any justice. Quickly realising that she might loose out on an opportunity based on her performance Grace asked if she could perform one of her own songs. After collaborating with a producer to prepare a 30 second track, Grace was offered a management contact.Grace spent the next 3 years perfecting her art of writing and melodys. Long hours were spent on vocal lesson and media training and performing. This was a very though time for grace as it forced her to realise all the other things that came with the business but that didnt stop her.Utilising her time at Rocket Records to fine tune her talents (both vocal and performance), Grace is now looking to a long term future in the music industry, writing and collaborating. At present, Grace is working on material for her new album."I love music and being able to create music, not just for myself but for others too"...
