The greatest gift life has to offer is to work hard at a job that is worth doing.

About Me

I'm a 24 old bass player and audio engineer from Steubenville, OH. (Basically a subburb of Pittsburgh, PA. About 30-45 minutes away depending on how fast you drive.) I've been on this site for a while now, and I really love using it as a tool to meet new people, so send me a message!!

My Interests

I love music and art and pretty much anything that goes along with those things. My friends tell me that I am a fount of useless musical trivia information, but I'm not sure how accurate that actually is. I'm a big fan of ethnic cultures (specifically foods) movies, theatre, and the opera too.

I really like going to new restaurants and bars too, trying new foods and drinks, finding the places with the best vibe etc...

I have the coolest job in the world — playing music with people or helping others to capture there music and ideas on a recording. I really don't think that there is any occupation that is better.

I also have the coolest cat ever, Lily, even though some call her a 'spas cat.'

I'd like to meet:

People that I've never met before.

Music:

Currently spinning: Kicking some brand spankin' new Brazilian Girls tunes, Matt Chamberlain's solo CD (which is really great) and William Shatner's CD Has Been which I just found about. It is fantastic too. The new Beck, old Gnawa Diffusion, the Medeski, Schofield, Martin and Wood record are in the changer right now too.

Movies:

I just saw Donnie Darko for the first time the other day. I really really liked it, but when I thought about it the next day I realized that it was not nearly as intellectual as I originally thought it was. It actually makes no sense, but done in such a great way that you think its complete genius.Waking Life, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, and Garden State have been some favorites when I'm in an artsy mood. Gotta include The Big Lebowsky and Office Space (because that used to practically be my life at my old job.)

I just watched a really interesting thing that sort of fits into the category of movie... Kevin Moore (a very cool composer and pianist) took a PSA movie from the '50's, slowed it down to half speed and composed a 'sound track' to it. I got the CD and DVD for Christmas, and watching the slowed down film with the music is a very unique experience.

Television:

I really hate TV as a general rule, but NFL football games are great, and occasionally I'll watch The Simpsons, The Family Guy, Curb Your Enthusiasm, The Office, and of course 24.

Books:

Hmm... Some of these I read a while ago but they still stick out to me as being good books: The Life of Pi, Living Buddha, Living Christ, Effortless Mastery, One Dead in Attic.I'm currently reading Jack Kerouac's On the Road because everyone else I know seems to be reading it (and because its amazing of course.) I'm also trying to find a copy of this book about Christian yoga written by a monastic priest that is supposed to be life-changing according to him, but I can't find it in any stores and the library

My Blog

Why I Won't Ever Fly Northwest Again...

So this past weekend I had an unbelievably terrible time with Northwest Airlines. I done being stressed out and angry about it, and I will seriously never give them another dime of my money, but I tho...
