Many claim to reign over Hip Hop, but the artist and soon to be king of
NYC, D.O.E, an acronym for Dominate Over Everyone, is climbing up the
industry ladder, and has a prominent producer to vow for his talent.
Born in the streets of NorthSide Queens, D.O.E knew at an early age
that music was his calling. Looking up to Hip Hop legends like Slick Rick,
Nas, Notorious B.I.G, Tupac Shakur, and Wu-Tang Clan, D.O.E watched and
listened for years until he finally took the verses he'd written in his
head to a microphone. With his mind right and sixteens tight, D.O.E
began to hit streets with his own mixtapes and eventually built a buzz
that left many industry executives asking, "Who's D.O.E?"
Me Unit (a parody of G Unit) was the mixtape D.O.E put together that
was about to change his career. It landed in the hands of an entertainment
lawyer that represented super producer Timbaland and he suggested that
Mr. Mosley take a listen. After hearing D.O.E's flow and ability to
switch his style and cadences; Timbaland knew he had to make D.O.E
apart of the now Mosley Music Group/ Interscope team.
Recently, D.O.E. has been dominating the charts on Timbaland's single
"The Way I Are" which also features label mate Keri Hilson. After
performing at the 2007 MTV Video Music Awards in Las Vegas with
Timbaland, Nelly Furtado and Justin Timberlake, D.O.E came back to NYC
and found himself on the set of ABC's "One Life to Live" as a special
guest. Currently preparing to take a trip overseas to perform at 2007's
Fashion Rocks event, D.O.E still finds himself in the studio
every night writing and arranging hits not only for himself but for
other artist as well. His new single "Bottom 2 Da Top" is picking up
quickly and being played by many major dj's including Hot 97's
Funkmaster Flex and DJ Whoo Kid.
With titles under his belt that include ghostwriter, rapper, actor and
entrepreneur, D.O.E has remained humble and still has the same hunger
and love for hip hop that he's had since day one. "Music is how I
express my pain, frustrations, humor and views of life" says D.O.E.
Prepared to finally release his first album and secure his spot as one
of Hip Hops elite, D.O.E is ready to put NorthSide Queens on the map
and let the industry know what the games been missing!
