Just give me another month

I'm a stay-at-home mom, for the moment, anyway.
Three chilluns, all teens now.
Homeschool (cyber school, which makes it much easier)
the two youngest.
Would like to send all to private school,
but that’s not in the stars right now.
Love the possibilities afforded by MySpace,
and how it's helping so many to become
more technologically proficient.
Pet peeve, though, is that it's perpetuating illiteracy...
Ah, well, to each generation their own...
Would love to reconnect with some old friends,
especially those thespians from my past!

I really believe this!

Love or Money: If you know me, you know that answer is obviously love.
Alcoholic Drink: Depends on my mood. Beer is most common...past favorites include Johnny Walker on ice, Black Russians, Arizona Licks, and waayyyyy back--grain punch... But that makes me sound like an alkie, doesn't it? Not true.
Bagel: Plain with cream cheese and strawberry jelly. It's the best!

Favorite memory: Seeing my husband for the first time. It really was love at first sight.
I HAVE...

Driven at excessive speed: Yup. A few speeding tickets when I was younger, and even drove racecar for a while there. Exhibition, not competition, but it was still exhilarating, though.
Met someone famous: I've met Leonard Nimoy (Mr. Spock--from the original Star Trek series), the Bolshoi Ballet Company on their first US tour, "The Talking Heads" (early punk band--my roadie experience is a story in itself!), and spent an afternoon with Charles Grodin (the actor, who is very nice, by the way).

My Interests

I love doing theatre--actually have a degree in it, but haven't had the time for it in a few years. Started with acting, and soon moved on to all other aspects--set, lights, and costume design & construction, make-up design... Must admit that directing is my favorite, though. To boast just a little, I was the youngest female to direct a mainstage commercial production in Erie, and think that I still hold that distinction.

But, I'm doin' the mothering thing for now, and have turned most of my attention to Girl Scouts instead. I've been the leader of a troop for 7 years, and serve at the Council level as a Service Unit Manager, Registrar, new leader orientator ("Root Training Facilitator" is the official title), and Council Delegate. It's time consuming, but very rewarding. It’s been a wonderful experience watching the girls learn new skills and grow in their self-confidence!

Movies:

Still love Zeffirelli's Romeo and Juliet--think it's one of the best films ever made. Zeffirelli was SO innovative to cast age-appropriate actors, the costumes and sets were superlative, and the handling of the dialogue was perfect. My only complaint was the omission of Act IV Scene 3 because it's a fabulous monologue! If you've never seen it, it's well worth your time! Don't think for a minute that it's dated just because it was released in 1968.

Let's see...I like most of the shows on Court TV like Cold Case Files, and Forensic Files (I'm a closet detective), Monk, Medium, Twilight Zone, X Files, Desperate Housewives, Scrubs, Grey’s Anatomy, House, the premier of Eureka looks promising...and just about anything on the History and Discovery channels.
I guess my choices tie in with an obsession for gaining new knowledge, and solving what has been heretofore unexplained.

Books:

Types vary according to my interests at the time. For entertainment, mysteries are great, the Harry Potter series has been terrific, and Sylvia Browne books are fun. Child development and psychology books deepen understanding (a little), and I'll always return to some favorite "classics" to visit old friends.
