Bands have always come and gone, which can become increasingly frustrating for dedicated musicians with a creative vision. Year upon year have been spent learning, writing, and rehearsing music just to play bars and clubs so the songs can be heard. And when bands with original songs break up for whatever reason, the music is cast into the void of nothingness, never to be heard again. What a waste of time and beauty!
From the onset, Ecliptic Switch has stood for just the opposite of this trend. Recorded music is a sonic canvas, just as defined as any painted one. To capture and preserve this creativity in its ultimate detail is paramount to us! Agonizing hours over arrangement ideas, finding the right sounds, and capturing the best energy in the performances have replaced the old typical rehearsal schedule, and with great reward. This system ensures constant progress and creativity.
With an endless list of influences, unhindered creative freedom, and a studio full of creative tools, these songs have manifested themselves. They are what they are... each an exploration into some new territory, be it music, production, or otherwise. No limitations are placed on what can or cannot be. No expectations. Anything goes, as long as it's interesting and fits the mood at hand.
After two and a half years of recording, we're pleased to announce that we're FINALLY finished with our record, which should be avaliable around the last week of August or first week of September. Then we'll be out and about to do some gigs in support of the CD, so stay tuned for show announcements!!!
