Everything happens for a reason.

About Me

My name is Bea (bay-uh) and I'm a freshman in college. I've changed a lot after my first semester in college at Indiana University, Bloomington. This is who I am:
I've learned a lot recently about what life is about, but of course there's more to know. I'm an 18-year-old young woman who doesn't know too much about life, but that does not mean I don't know what I've seen.
Life is like a book, it gets interesting sometimes, it gets sad, then you can reach some scary stuff, next thing you know the story is either getting suspenseful and you're so anxious to know what happens next. You finish the book, you look back at it, and say, that was a good book, I learned a whole lot from it. However, I'm only on chapter 5 or 6.
I learned not to be too naive about things in a sense that you can't always trust people with their word. You may know them, but then you start to see things you never knew was there, and you ask yourself how you missed it. I learned that you can listen to people tell you how life can be over and over again, but you learn through experiences, whether it's your own or someone else's. You may know someone for the longest time and think they're such a good person, but I learned that there's always more to see on the other side of the coin.
I'm the kind of girl that likes to go out and be with people, meet new people, and have a good time. I'm outgoing. I've made decisions in my life that I'm not too proud of and I've made mistakes in the last 18 years of my life, but I realized that you have to move on and you have to look back to learn your mistakes and take them with you to be a good and better person.
Even though I enjoy going out and socializing, I'm also the type that likes to stay in and sit on the couch with my pj's on and watch movies weekend nights. I love being goofy, and I love to eat. I eat almost anything, I'm not much of a picky eater at all. I don't really have a favorite dish, but I love asian food.
I like learning about new things..I like learning about why the world is the way it is right now, why people do the things they do, why things are the way they are. I like looking at world issues that will always be questioned and understand both sides of the story, such as abortion, criminal justice, etc.
I tend to be girly because of my interests. I like the color pink, I love makeup, hair stuff, going to the gym and doing work-out classes, shopping, getting dressed up, etc... but I'm not really ditzy.
I'm the kind of person that when I get upset, I say too much that it gets me into trouble. I've realized how much I'm like my mom and my dad when I get mad, which can't always be a good thing when you lose your temper, but it's something I try to deal with, and change. You can't change something you've been your whole life into a couple months, but you can always try your best. I learned not to believe someone all the time and think they're always right.
I learned that people who try to hurt other people are just hurting themselves because of their insecurities. I learned that they do it because they want to hide what they really think and how they really feel. They try to be someone who they're not, but end up regretting it themselves.
I still have a lot to learn about myself because I'm growing, spreading my wings and looking over the horizon. I know you can't dwell on the past, because if you do, then you'll never go anywhere. I learned that you shouldn't have self-pity, because you get yourself to where you are right now. I learned that when one door closes, another one opens. I learned that you can be under a dark tunnel for so long, but if you keep trying, you'll find the light.
I can be really blunt with people. Sometimes I tell them what they don't want to hear because they need to realize what they're doing. People come to me for advice and say that I should have my own "Dr. Phil" show.
I love to sing for fun, and ever since high school, I try to get on stage each time I can to sing a song. I love dancing. I would take hip-hop classes at the gym and also some salsa. I love latin ballroom dancing. Any guy that can dance or sing is very impressive.
I like many things, but that does not necessarily mean I have to have it. That's just my materialistic side coming out of me, but I know that there are many things in life that I want, but I'm not expecting all of them to happen for me, like being able to get all the clothes I want. Yes, all you need in life are your necesities, the things you need to survive. However I do know that if you want something, don't tell yourself that you won't be able to do it one day, because you can if you let yourself and if you work hard to get it. However, you don't want to be too greedy or too materialistic, you always have to give back. Do what you can do to help and love others, but in order to do so, you have to help and love yourself first.
That's pretty much the kind of person I am, to whoever would actually take the time to read all this.
