*MORE UPDATES COMING SOON!* Growing up in a working class neighborhood on Staten Island, NY Nick Picolo, a famous model who got his start with Abercrombie & Fitch, Hollister and Calvin Klein learned the importance of family, hard work, persistence, and integrity. At the age of 8 Nick’s mother encouraged him to pursue modeling. Now his face can be seen on shopping bags, ads, TV commercials, catalogs, and magazines. When he was a boy along with his younger brother, Sean (27), a current model for Tommy Hilfiger he attended Catholic school and occasionally paid the neighborhood girls $1.00 to kiss them. Spending much of his time in his room since his mother did not allow him to get dirty and his father did not allow noise Nick read books and played games with his brother. Attending college at NYU and UNC Chapel Hill he studied business management and real estate.
When asked what being on a shoot is like Nick responded, “It’s sometimes weird because you have all of these beautiful people running around and I think to myself, “What right do I have to be here?” But, then you realize that it’s just like any other job. I wake up every morning and go to work just like everyone else although I do travel much more than the average person. It’s really fun but there are days I don’t want to go to work. Overall, there is a lot of waiting around and then you get your picture taken for a few hours. Honestly? I love it!” Practical jokes abound amongst the A & F models on the set as Nick tells the story, “ We all play jokes on each other all the time. One time one of the infamous twins, Kyle played a joke on Hunter who is another model. He put honey in his bed at the hotel so when he got in that night it was all over him. He tracked it all over the room and A & F actually ended up having to pay a fine. Sounds bad but, it was hilarious.” And yes, you will all get your chance to see Nick get Punk’d by Ashton Kutcher and Danny Masterson, of That 70’s Show while on the set of an A & F shoot during one of next season’s episodes.
Putting his dashing Italian-German looks to good use Nick’s list of credits continues to grow. Appearing in episodes 4, 5, and 6 of Smallville season 2, Growing Up Gotti season 2, What I Like About You, and various commercials helped him land the part of Joey Mazarti in a major motion picture. *UPDATE- Movie has been put on hold for financial reasons with Universal*
Nick recently married Melenie, daughter of his best friend on December 3, 2005. The couple resides in NYC and just had their first daughter on Valentines Day. Her name is Madalynn Valentina Mariah Picolo. Upon retiring from modeling he plans on pursuing his real estate investing or possibly another movie…-Christa Lee
Well here is my ABOUT ME from me personally. My name is Nicolas Picolo. Call me NICK please…not Nicolas. Nicolas is what I am called in Europe and by the designers because God forbid they shorten my name LOL. I grew up in NY but bought my first house overseas in Paris when I was 19. I have modeled for some of the world’s top designers and I love my job. It is hard though. I spend most of my time in Milano, Italy, Paris, France and NYC. I speak fluent French, Italian, German and of course English. I’ve been told I sound slighty foreign from being overseas so much. I get told I speak “Europeyork” which is foreign with a NY accent lol.
I am married to my beautiful wife, Melenie and we have a daughter, Madalynn born February 14, 2007….yes Valentine’s Day. She is our world! Madalynn melts me and has me wrapped…I’ll admit that! We plan on trying to have #2 when Madalynn is 6 months. So, no I am not on myspace to hook up.
I like to think I have a great personality. I am a perfect mix of crazy sexy cool (yes I like TLC). I am a very private person and quiet in public. It doesn’t mean I am rude. I am an observer and thinker. I do talk a lot though when I am with my family and friends. I do not like people who ask WHY or WHO in a nosey way. If I say something and they have to know, I will shut them up lol. I am straight forward. I don’t beat around the bush so if I hurt your feelings, my bad but get over it. I am who I am and I’m pretty satisfied with it. I love people and I appreciate everything…all the friends family and fans I have. They are what make me thrive on life.
