About Me

there's a lot but nothing to say. i've lived many lives. i'm living a life. i promise i will write something more effectively me later. i was born in kinston, nc. in '91 i moved to california, then moved back to nc 4 years later. i have often regretted it. i love california and i love the friends i have there. but my family is here and my mom's health isn't the best. so my compromise is to live in/near raleigh. no big city, but at least it's not hicksville. i love nature, but the idea of living in it constantly is freaky. i love the city too. i have 3 daughters, 23, 5, and 4. that's part of my many lives. i love dark things. i love things that make me feel. i love beautiful things. i love ugly things. music has always been important to me. long time faves inclued current 93, legendary pink dots, robyn hitchcock, david bowie. that is not to say i don't like newer stuff, that's just my "roots." uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh............................ ............................the background here is the light through my grapevine.

Music:

when i was 7, my brother had a friend, richard hasley, who had an uncle that was a dj at a local station. once, richard's uncle bobby gave my brother a stack of 45's that the station did not use. in that stack was 2 that changed me forever - the crazy world of arthur brown, nightmare and david bowie, rubberband. and then my mind split open my mind split open my mind split open. that was 1971. it was not my mom and dad's radio. yay. then richard gave my brother a 45 of david bowie's space oddity for christmas. my obesession began. i was obsessed with david bowie throughout my youth. i still love him, though i haven't heard much of his recent stuff. as far as arthur brown goes, if you don't know who he is, he was a "scary" artist among hippies back then. you probably heard the song fire. he has never stopped making music and actually has a my space page. he has an amazing voice in a crazed sort of way. and a list...einsturezende neubauten, barry adamson, robyn hitchcock, current 93, legendary pink dots, outkast, prodigy, genesis p-orridge, swans (or any other michael gira project), death in june, beck, roger miller, massive attack, kraftwerk, billie holliday, nat king cole, nick cave, leonard cohen, coil, dj cheb i sabbah, bryin dall, barry adamson and more more more. electronic, old and new, is some of my favorite stuff. i like ambient and noise and ambient noise. i like punk, more old than new. i don't like country most of the time, though if you twist it up, it to can be acceptable. of course, there is johnny cash. eternally the man in black.Take the quiz:

Books:

i have a hard time finding time to read since i had the podlings, but i love anything by clive barker and anything by joe lansdale. the "pendergast" books by preston and child, douglas coupland, random books, the fox woman by kij johnson........ and now, i must add john skipp, who i once again am commanding you ALL to go out and read. thanks to gifts from my sister and her husband, i have been introduced to another delightful read. and RIP robert anton wilson. jolly and delightful, even close to death. i grew up reading heinlein, orwell and huxley. sometimes, i like to read random books about serial killers. sometimes i read about how to press flowers. horror, suspense, freaky....just not mundane.
