About Me

American Missionary is a branch of Project Go, Inc., a non-profit organization dedicated to bringing the love and hope of Jesus Christ to the world's most desperate people.AT HOME they share in local universities, civic groups, churches, and conferences, equipping others to reach out and make a real difference wherever they are.Young, Free, Holy, and Kind of Hot, they are changing the world's understanding of what it means to be a missionary.ABROAD they're serious about loving people and Jesus by providing life-changing relief to the poor and preaching the gospel. Giving gifts of self-sufficiency through education and job enablement, providing housing for those virtually homeless, granting medical attention to those who could never afford otherwise...BEHOLD, THE AMERICAN MISSIONARY TEAM:LUKE RICHARDS, 26, Director and Philosopher of the Revolution. Doesn't necessarily enjoy travel, dangerous situations, or foreigners; but finds himself surrounded by almost more than he can handle everyday. DOES enjoy challenging, if not impossible, situations; doing whatever it takes to help the poor know Jesus and find relief; and beautiful peopleMICHAEL MANGUM, 26, Team Mascot and Encourager of the Year. Dislikes hurrying, wearing warm enough clothes, and 40-something year-old moms trying to pick him up. DOES enjoy village food, Vidal Sassoon, and 20-something moms trying to pick him up.GREGG MONTELLA, 30, Papa Noel and Partial Financiere. Has a hard time riding in taxis with no seat belts; being in needlessly dangerous situations; and using internet cafes. Enjoys meeting new people, barely making deadlines, and staying one step ahead of those who think they know where in the world he is.ANDREA PHOOPER, 25. The sweetest, kindest, happiest, friendliest, most compassionate and nicest person on the team. Loves Jesus like a maniac. Enjoys adventure, except when it comes to village food. Is currently going through extreme makeover and won't make any appearances until it's over.LEANN PETERSON, 25, Kids Pastor and Iron Chef of Krivoy Rog. Prays like a warrior, loves kids like a Daddy Warbucks, and whips up kibbles like a Mamma Kodosh.AMANDA GAGE, 26, The Roger Clemens of Team Ministry. Really appreciates Texas, gypsies, and Nancy Durham.CALEB AND ASHLEY STEWART, 29, Producers, Editers, Directors, and Mutual Partners. Both cherish unique local eateries, and make the rockingest Christian tv show since Bing Crosby danced with Danny Kaye.
