About Me

All about Amanda ... well I really hate filling stuff like this out, but since all of my friends have one I can't not have one too. I live in Texas when I'm not living in the Ukraine doing missions work, which I love. "What exactly do you do there?", you ask. A lot ... children's outreach in orphanages and villages, helping local ministers start village churches, teaching, preaching, teaching english, helping to provide food, clothes and shelter to those in need, eating endless unrecognizable village food, using very scary and very dirty outhouses, and last but not least, trying and failing everyday to learn Russian. My Interests

people, traveling, languages, trying new things, cooking, reading, water-color painting (a new one for me), Ukrainian handi-crafts (just kidding), learning about almost anything

I'd like to meet:

George and Laura Bush, for sure. Then maybe Oprah (yes I said Oprah). I've been praying for her for years. I wanted to meet Bob Barker, but that was only because my dream was to meet him playing Plinko on the Price is Right. Any other host just won't be the same.

Music:

This is totally based on my current top 25 on itunes ... Hillsongs United, Isa, Misty Edwards, Jason Morant, Brian & Jenn Johnson, Relient K, David Crowder, and Toby Mac. Not on the official list, but worthy of honorable mention are ... Worship Circle, Norah Jones and Lifehouse. I'm also partial to jazz, oldies, flamenco music and a little bit of country here and there.

Movies:

I love girl movies ... Emma, Sense and Sensibility, Pride & Prejudice. Of course those were all love stories written by a woman so they're not in any way reality, but a girl can dream. Other than that, I like all kinds of movies unless they involve Eskimos or animals or have the name Whale Rider.

Television:

I admit I have a love/hate relationship with 24. It sometimes causes me a sleepless night or two, but in the end well worth it. Other must sees ... Lost, the Office, and Dr. Phil when I'm in America.

Books:

I read a lot so my favorite book would probably change quite often. I usually appreciate any book by A. W. Tozer though.

Heroes:

anyone who has ever suffered or given their life for the Gospel.
