I am here for Friends

About Me

Lovely 3-bedroom House for Sale!

This modern red brick townhouse is situated in a quiet cul-de-sac location in the suburb of Sydenham, which is approximately two miles from Belfast city centre. With three bedrooms, a large living/dining room and separate kitchen, this is the perfect starter home for a couple or young family.

My Interests

Music, photography, travel, combinations of the above. Trying (and failing) to remove copious amounts of cat hair from every item of clothing I own.

I'd like to meet:

Anyone who can hold a sensible conversation with me.

Got something you want to say?

Music:

Mostly generic late 80s/early 90s indie rock. Twee is good.Currently on heavy rotation: Colloquial Dutch - the Complete Course for Beginners, Brendan Benson, Sufjan Stevens, the Apples In Stereo, Engine Alley.

Movies:

Not really that bothered. There needs to be a coherent storyline with a beginning, middle, and an end, but I'm not a movie snob and will at least attempt to watch most things. I don't care enough to have any favourites.

Television:

Anything except sport or politics.

Books:

I love reading. Anything I can get my hands on, from classics to the back of a cereal box, will be devoured. My bookcases contain lots of Stephen King and Dean Koontz (although I fear I have outgrown them), plus assorted general fiction, chick-lit, sci-fi, guidebooks, atlases, dictionaries, and whatever catches my eye in Oxfam.

Heroes:

Nobody has yet inspired me enough to hero-worship them.

Lisburn 10k run

Yesterday evening I took part in the Lisburn 10k run.  This was something that I signed up for in an excess of enthusiasm following the 7 mile leg of the Belfast City Marathon which I ran at the ...

Our dog died

Our family dog died. We got Sandy sometime when I was in my late teens - she was a young dog, a golden retriever-type mongrel, who had been abandoned by the side of the road. I am now 32, so she was a...
