The Lingus

feel-good indie rock

About Me

About:
The Lingus are a band from Antrim, Northern Ireland. They create an uplifting melodic indie rock sound blending driving guitars, soaring vocals and delicate harmonies.
November 2007 sees the release of Rebuild The Bridges, the band's fourth EP. Their previous efforts have received critical acclaim from the Northern Irish media and radio airplay on BBC Radio 1, BBC Radio Ulster, Downtown Radio and Steve Lamacq on BBC 6 Music.
The band have played many venues across Northern Ireland and beyond including appearances at Gifted @ the Empire, Radar Live, the BelFEST festival, the NI:NG festival in London and support slots with the likes of Larrikin Love, The Adventures, The Dudley Corporation and The Answer.
Some of their songs have featured on various unsigned compilations including Public Service Broadcast 6, released by UK indie label Smalltown America.
Press:
"The Lingus use melody as their hook, crafting glorious pop tunes around the catchiest of choruses... definitely the kind of band you'd see and go home raving about to your friends."
David Roy (Irish News)
"The Lingus offer feel-good indie rock 'n' roll the way it used to be made. Sugar's brightest moments collide with Teenage Fanclub's infectious energy and enthusiasm, with a hint of The Wonder Stuff's penchant for the absurd, in a collection of melody-drenched songs you'll be humming for weeks."
Windmill Brixton (NI:NG Festival)
"The Lingus are an excellent band, capable of crafting some of the finest tunes that you're likely to hear on the local music scene. They write damn near perfect pop-rock sounds and several of the tracks that were played during their set had 'hit' stamped all over them."
Kirsten McAlpine (Big List)
"One of the best bands from Northern Ireland."
Gerry Anderson (BBC Radio Ulster)
