D2 MUSIC MANAGEMENT

About Me

Chris "Ce-Luv" Celestine started her career in the early 1990’s at Time Warner working on the corporate side of the business. Being around such great icons like the legendary Quincy Jones inspired her to explore this industry a bit further. Being a witness to the birth of Vibe magazine, Ce-Luv’s interest in the entertainment industry peaked to new heights. Finding ways to get in the game some way, somehow, she got involved with NUMA (National Underground Music Association), a non-profit organization based in the Washington, DC area focused in the uplifting of youth by using the entertainment arena. Although her passion and desire to learn the industry was a priority, she clearly stated that her most gratifying time spent in this industry thus far has been her earlier work in giving back to the underprivileged youth through sports and music. She stated, “Nothing in the world can top the feeling you get when you know that your work has contributed to the motivation of a youth to change his/her life in a positive direction.” While working with this organization, she pushed her way into networking with local label reps to prove her worth in this industry. She learned the art of street marketing under the tutelage of many individuals to include now Def Jam Vice President, Thomas Lytle. “It was hard work and a lot of free work but I had to do what I needed to do to prove that I was just as capable as the next person to do the job” she states. As her knowledge and experience in the industry grew, her interests began traveling down different roads. She began doing a lot more work with DJ’s and helping them grow their careers. Being related to the “Coquia Brothers” a.k.a., DJ E-Man (MD/APD Power 106 Los Angeles), DJ Virman (Mixer, Power 106 Los Angeles) and DJ Mikee Mike (MD, KZON, Phoenix), her vision expanded and she collaborated her efforts with DJ Virman in establishing and managing the Rotations Record Pool based in Southern California, servicing DJ’s in Southern California and Phoenix. In 2004, her hard work finally paid off when she landed a national tour for one of her DJ’s (DJ Virman) on Ludacris’ Chicken & Beer Tour. She learned the ins and outs of tour management and the art of promoting a record. With her newly learned skills, she went on to take projects directly with Bobby Valentino, Stat Quo, Trey Songz and many others. When asked what she learned from this experience, she’ll humbly say “I take a lot of pride specifically in working that Bobby Valentino record ‘Slow Down’ because it taught me so many things. It was my first go at working a record but I know that the success came from the experience and knowledge I had gained from the hard beginnings. We took that record and made it #1 and that was well worth all the painful rejections I got when we started. Now I know what I am truly capable of. She's also worked with several label reps to help in some major artist projects to include T.I., David Banner, Chingy, Tweet and assisted in helping to break new artists into the game like T-Pain and Pretty Ricky. So what’s the biggest lesson behind the whole experience? "Stay humble and patient, it will keep you grounded.” Presently, she holds a position within D2 Music Management as Tour/Road Manager & Mixshow Coordinator for their signed artists, R&B Sensation “Trey Songz” (Atlantic Records) and Tha Young Gunna "Jody Breeze" (Shonuff Records). In addition, she has continued her efforts in working with DJ’s and has collaborated with Latin Prince (Universal/Motown) to become an official member of the Board of Directors for The BumSquad DJ’s. She is also associated with the powerful all-female movement "Rated X Vixens" where their strong presence has made a true statement in the industry. Chris Celestine has definitely paved her own way to her position in this playing field. Through much patience and humility, she has found a way to justify the sacrifices and compromises she’s endured in her journey. When asked about her future endeavors, she simply replies “It’s not my decision, that’s all in God’s hands.”
