The band formed when brothers Ian and Lexander Deschuytter were searching to find a guitarist who was the right fit for them. After a painstaking audition process, they finally found one who could match their intensity in Ian Young, who had cut his teeth on the Los Angeles music scene after attending UCLA. From the first time the three played together, there was instant chemistry. Later, after honing their skills and creating a solid musical base, the trio embarked on a quest to find a singer who matched their energy and creativity. The journey ended when they crossed paths with Don Lawrence, who after studying music at FSU, had recently moved to California and was also in search of a musical outlet. His robust vocals were an excellent fit for the new sound that the boys had been crafting.Since they started gigging in 2006, Think Tanks fusion of imaginative rock-funk and dynamic live performances have been creating quite a stir. They are currently playing bars, clubs, and universities throughout California, while preparing to record a full-length CD later this year. Think Tanks music evokes many influences from metal to jazz. Ultimately however, listeners will recognize it as an original and potent sound. !
