THIS DAY FORWARD formed in autumn 1996, as five individuals channeling their positive and negative energies with the assistance of instruments. Hailing from the PA area, their idiosyncratic sound may be compared to older Cave In and Converge. The music is essentially hardcore: fast and heavy, yet wraithlike and recognizable. They strive to release much of the baggage that weighs people down and aspire to help others shed these human burdens of everyday occurance. They adhere tenaciously to the functional independence of the hardcore/underground music scene. This Day Forward view music as an efficient channel for self-understanding and personal expression.TDF released 3 CD's with Eulogy, "Fragments...," "The Transient Effects of Light on Water," and "Kairos." Before their split in 2004, they released a full-length on Equal Vision called "In Response." Members have gone on to form Circa Survive and Marigold.
