Sunrise & Sunsets е последовател на Combined Effort, хартиеното списание, което вече не съществува. S&S е едновременно първи и последен брой, тъй като вече почти не ми остава време да работя над него. Изцяло на английски и само на английски, можете да го свалите абсолютно безплатно от тук и да го принтирате или просто прочетете в дигитален вариант (.PDF формат). В броя интервюта взети специално за zine-а: Bane, Comeback Kid, Champion, Converge, Integrity, Alexisonfire, FurtherSeemsForever, 25taLife, Spot (Русе), Food Not Bombs (София), Shai Hulud, Aga (Sunny Days Tourbooking), Trial Reunion Shows - репорт на Greg Bennick(вокал на Trial), както и статии и няколко вегетариански рецепти . There used to be a paper zine called Combined Effort
That zine is no more and Sunrise & Sunsets is its follow-up. Most of you are surely hearing both names for the first time and I guess just a small amount of you know or have read the first one. It is about 7-8 years since I started doing this small project and I know that putting out 3 zines in 8 years is no achievement whatsoever. But, nevertheless it is more than none in 8 years...I must admit, that although there were hard times gathering stuff or writing materials or getting this thing printed and spreading it out, it was mostly fun.
It was fun to talk to those bands and it was fun to go see them, to meet new people through the zine and it was mainly fun to try and be creative in one way or the other. The name was changed to Sunrise & Sunsets for several reasons. For one, I never really liked the previous. S&S has something to do with the theme of this last issue (yes, last, will go back to this later) and because I always liked equally both Sunrises and the Sunsets. And since this is the last issue, it is somewhat metaphorical for the whole existence of the zine.
This is the last issue for several reasons: It took me about 4 years just to get it done and I am afraid that if I am to make another one, most of us wouldn't be around the time it comes out. I am also getting tired of doing those interviews and trying to get it on paper. There are probably a ton of other reasons, but I will leave it at that. So enough said, let see what you can read here.
There are 54 pages containing some thoughts, reviews, reports, interviews and even few vegetarian recipes for all of you hungry vegetarians (and not only) that look for something new. All materials are written or taken by me (when not otherwise noted) and include: Interviews with (in no particular order) Bane, Comeback Kid, Champion, Converge, Integrity, Alexisonfire, FurtherSeemsForever, 25taLife, Spot (Ruse, Bulgaria), Food Not Bombs (Sofia), Shai Hulud, Aga (Sunny Days Tourbooking), a Trial Reunion Shows Report by Singer Greg Bennick and few columns.
I decided to give you the opportunity to print it out yourselves or just read it on your PCs by downloading the .PDF file from my website http://sunriseandsunsets.aresistance.net – this way we can save up on a lot of paper and I can get to more people. I am even including an archive PDF copy of the last issue of Combined Effort (in english), which I recently found on my computer. Below you can use this flash thingy a friend of mine did for me to browse through the pages (sorry, quality is too bad to read on flash for faster browsing, just download the PDF). Just klick on the right page to go forward and on the left to go back.
For those of you that have no Idea what PDF is or how to open the zine please download the free software from ADOBE (Acrobat Reader 8) . In the first blog “How to read the zine” I wrote a small tutorial on how to view the pages.
