The Chugach Irish Pipes and Drums was originally formed early in July of 2005 as an extra practice for pipers across the state. After about two weeks we played our first performance at the Alaska Trio competition and placed second (YAY!). After that we figured we might as well just become our very own band in Eagle River, Alaska, so we changed our name to Alaska Celtic pipes and drums. We are offically (as of January 18th, 2006) a 501(c)(3) non-profit organisation. And quite happy with ourselves. We're dedicated to teaching (andl learning) Scottish and Irish piping/drumming and are always looking for new members.
