About Me
I grew up in Jackson, MS. Waking up, strumming, writing, and being a vulnerable teenager to the harsh world of private school living.
After that, went to the University of Miss. where I enjoyed strumming, writing, and playing with a great band in Oxford, MS called Freeman's Ride.
After college, I moved to Nashville, TN. where I stopped playing music and decided to live in the world of normality. I soon realized that I was not normal, so I had to return to my passion of strumming, writing , and playing for various adventures. One was Disney. One was a band called ESKRA. And so on.
After my quick one year adventure to Nashville, I moved to Destin, FL. Here I enjoyed strumming, writing, and playing cover songs for your listening pleasure at world famous Hogs Breath Saloon. During the summer of 2003 I wrote my first album "Brand New Something". At this time I started frequently playing at a bar called Funky Blues Shack. In the Spring of 04 a friend of mine, Diana Deprisco, sent my album to Peter Malick. Peter is a songwriter/guitarist/producer in the LA area. He has done works with many artist one being Norah Jones. Peter decided that he wanted to do an album with me, so we started working on my latest album " Starting Ground". We did a majority of the recording in the summer of 04 and the summer of 05. We recorded the album at The Green Room recording studio. It has some outstanding musicians on the album. It has Butch Norton who was the drummer from the EELS, Phil Parlapiano who is the keyboard player for John Prine, Chris Chaney who was the bassist for Janes Addiction, and Peter Malick on mandolin and lap steele. Towards the end of my stay in Destin, my shows were getting busier and busier because of some extremely loyal locals and people from out of town. I felt like it was time to move away and start over. Drastic changes were to come.
In 2006, I moved to Loveland, CO where I worked during the day at Best Buy, and I played shows around town every once in a while. I sure would have liked to play more, but at that moment I was taking things step by step. The shows started to get better, and my album was getting closer to release. There were many more changes to come. In the summer of 2006 I was named best guitar player in Colorado at the 2006 Guitars on Fire Competition. From there, my shows started to pick up even more and I was playing quite a bit. My lines were getting longer to hear my originals.
In the winter of 2006, I was asked to play for the season at Copper Mountain Ski Resort Wednesday thru Saturday. At that time, I would play my shows up in the mountains and then come down and play shows in the Fort Collins area. Lucky Joes was and still is my favorite place to play. I love everyone who supports me at those shows. They are crazy groups of people and I love them all.
Currently, I have moved to the Denver area where I am playing a good amount getting ready for my album to drop in September. I am currently looking for musicians to get this train a rolling. It is not the easiest thing to do. All I am looking for is a bass player, a solid drummer, and maybe some keys. I know it will all come together. Please come and show some support by screaming out an original. Thanks for stopping by. More news to come.
