Grew up in Marion Arkansas,about 13 miles from Memphis,I was lucky to have a guitar playing brother 12 years older,that exposed me to good music as a child,such as The Beatles,The Ventures,Buck Owens,Rolling Stones,Chet Atkins,Jimi Hendrix,Beach Boys,Little Richard,Jerry Lee Lewis,Johny Cash,Johnny Winter,Flat and Scruggs,etc.Started playing drums at age four,and began playing the Memphis clubs at age 15.I attended The University of Central Arkansas,and transfered to Memphis State Uninversity ,where I still didn't graduate.I married at age 27,and managed to still play music.Several bands later , we moved to Destin,FL in 1994 .I played in several bands along the coast with some good guys,including my brother Jim Cooper a great guitar player,singer songwriter who died from cancer a few years ago.Some of those bands,and people include The Dubious Brothers,The Underdogs,Jeff Caldwell,Greg Barnhill,Duke Bardwell,Hubba Hubba,Mike Gallaher,Pat Pritchard Project,Sticks and Stones,Sam Bush,Marc Harris,and The Shawn Curle Blues Band.I have a wife Pam of 20 years,a son Case 20,a kicker at Florida State[Just transfered to play for The Ole Miss Rebels},and a step son David 26.
