My Dad. Born in a little house on the Albertan prairies, he volentered to fight for his country when WWII started, he was only 18. He joined the Calgary Highlanders an fought in northern Europe. He was in the failed landing at Dieppe and also at Normandy. He took a shell in the top of his head leading a charge to take a hill near Caan. He was back fighting in Holland with a steel plate in his head only a few months later. For all he went through and saw he remained a true gentleman. So yes, my dad and the other men of his generation. If it wasn't for them life would be a hell of a lot different for us now.
