It is better to be disliked for who you are than loved for who you are not.

About Me

I am subject to change without notice.

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

William Blake. William Shakespeare. Mercedes Lackey. Robin McKinley. Edna St. Vincent Millay. Queen Elizabeth I. Anne Boleyn. Vlad the Impaler (okay, just kidding about that one). Simone de Beauvoir. Anais Nin. Anne Sexton. Isak Dinesen. George Sand. And just for the heck of it, I'll throw in a few more guys: Mozart. Da Vinci. Michelangelo. Sir Thomas More. Bruce Lee. Hey, he was kewl!

That's my personal self. As my artist-self, I'd love to meet actors, directors, producers, casting directors, agents.... anyone in the industry

Books:

I have six bookcases that don't quite hold all my books.
One has science fiction and fantasy. The second is all plays, sheet music, and craft books on acting, film production, and the like. The third is filled with horror, mystery, and random bestsellers. The fourth, the smallest, has brain candy for when I don't want to think. The fifth (and second-largest) is full of software development and business management books.
The sixth and biggest bookcase has an eclectic mix of classics. This mongo bookcase contains a shelf of poetry, a shelf of literature, a shelf of health and nutrition books, and a shelf with a wide variety of spiritual and religious books.
Clearly, I like to read.

My Blog

Building a foundation for a dream

Okay, so I've been AWOL for a while... and I miss all of you, and I miss acting!  I've had to stop doing any auditioning or filming or even classes for a while.  Don't worry, I'm not leaving...

this explains the hyperventilating

The stones in the foundation of my life have dramatically shifted.  Everything went creaking to one side, then to the other, threatened to tip over completely... and then fell back into a better ...

corporate benefits

I recently switched from telecommuting to working in an office environment.  It's a bit of a culture shock at first... suddenly there are strangers passing by your desk to take a look at "the new...

switching lenses

It's funny how things can change so quickly, without changing much at all.  I'm still on that dark mountain slope, sorting through the crap that I brought with me.  A disconcerting place to ...

a very slight allegory

A few months ago, I was at a place where I could look at my life and think I'd done an amazing job of creating exactly what I wanted in my life and letting go of what wasn't healthy for me.  Now ...

Why I love Edna

Lately, when asked to say something to test sound levels for a take, I found myself breathing out slightly mangled versions of a few of Edna St. Vincent Millay's sonnets.  I didn't set out to mem...

the dull thud of reality

My car is ill.  Its innards are currently torn apart and strewn over the garage of what I am assured is the one of the top transmission specialists in Florida.  It will cost me $1700 to put ...

Helping each other out

I am in a GREAT mood today.  I feel good about myself, my acting career... went to an audition and saw some good friends there.  I love my network of acting friends.  If we are in compe...
