PANIC ROOM (Recording New Album)

The musical group Redrum started forming in the spring of 2002 in Parma, Italy when Francesco Liuzzi (singer) and Rocco Cortesi (guitar) came together, to be joined shortly thereafter by Simone Pilato (base), Marco Mambriani (guitar), Matteo Taglioli (percussion) and DJ LIKEEt (turntable). The group, which began as a cover band, soon started producing original scores which melded various rock influences (metal and funky) while retaining a high level of originality. Powerful, rhythmical gitars, bases and scratches form the main characteristics of the groups productions in their aim to propose an original alternative sound. The six members of the band have gained their experience through numerous concerts held in and around Parma. Toward the end of 2002 they produced a demo consisting of 3 pieces : If, Dark Angel and Time. In the same year they took part in the music contest Emergenza Rock Parma/Reggio Emilia 2003 where they came in second over more than 70 participating bands. In the same year they won first prize in the Coop for Music 2003 with their Dark angel and performed in front of an audience of over 4000 in Bologna as supporting band to Planet Funk. In September 2003 they were a guest band at the Imola rock Festival and in mid-September they began recording a 4-piece demo consisting of: Dark angel, Time, Like U See and Dr. Drum. On October 4, 2003 they performed in the main auditorium of Mirabilandia (Ravenna) in which numerous well-known Italian music performers participated. Following this, local and national radio DJs started broadcasting Dark Angel which is also included in a compilation included in the monthly magazine Rock Star in November of the same year (circulation 17,000 copies). In 2004 the group signed a contract with the recording company Urlo Music s.r.l. (distributor for the EMI and Universal labels, headquartered in Lombardy). However, just as the recordings were being finalized the recording company was forced out of business and the contract was rescinded by both parties. The group is now no longer bound by any contractual obligations and is searching for new avenues through which to bring its music to a wider audience. In the meantime DJ LIKEEt has left the group and has been replaced by DJ Seth (Riccardo Caruso). While the recording is stalling, the group continue their concert successes by winning the FOG&FrOGS MusicContest and performing as the opening band at a concert of the Apres la Classe, an important musical group belonging to the Italian musical underground. Further success wass achieved by Redrum when they were selected to participate in the finals of Sanremorock in October 2005. In November 2005 Redrum completed the recording of its first album and is now looking for a music agencies interested in promoting and releasing its CD.
