About Me

we used to have alotta clever anecdotes and witty sayings up here but some things have changed since what we thought was gonna be our last performance. what the hell is goin' on you ask? here's the short & skinny of it all... "the sloppy high-fives" are indeed getting back together. a reunion of sorts? maybe.. maybe more! we'll see what happens but i will share that we are enjoying all the exciting expectations and starting to find a couple more tricks up our sleaves and some stones that were left unturned before mike's move to north carolina.
so here we are again.. we've returned with our usual brand of rock n' roll fueled with tales riddled with bullet holes, booze, women, and of course - muhammed ali. this time around it is myself (pete carmichael) and coming down from NC is the main man himself mike mcfarland. joining us once again, like no other could replace, is the one and only chuck deuce on drums. joining us on guitars this time around (yes i said guitars for the first time.. plural!) will be our good buddy larry grasso and another good friend of ours' aaron from the freakin' hott! how's that for some fun shit?
so sit back, listen up, and get ready for what's about to be coming... i'd clue ya in on a lil more but, hell - i'm not even sure this time around!! and if you haven't signed up yet... get to it!! thanks, w.t.pete
we've had the pleasure of playing with legendary punk rockers GBH, the legendary shack shakers, the van orsdels, the freakin' hott, and ambrosia... but we can't prove the ambrosia thing.
**WRITE-UPS**
this was an article posted by New Times for a previous show..
"The small performance area inside the Lounge (517 Clematis St., West Palm Beach) is usually occupied by midtempo bands that don't turn it up much past seven, let alone anywhere near ten. So let's hope a fuse doesn't blow tonight as the Sloppy High-Fives rumble through a set of high-speed, beer-stained rockers. Big on guitars and with a heavy nod to the Supersuckers and Turbonegro, these guys make the Hives sound like Herman's Hermits. When the 'Fives sing "Bring me that medicine" in the song "Established in 1874," you know they're not talking about TheraFlu. Hit the sauce with the guys tonight as part of "Wormhole Wednesdays."(JB/NewTimes)
when we opened for GBH we received the best compliment for the band ever.. as we were wandering off stage drunk GBH was wandering on stage drunk... colin from GBH tackled us and said "holy shit.. you guys are like.. ac/dc meets fucking black flag!" - thanks for the heterosexual stiffy we got from that one colin.
