About Me

Scientia Est Potentia * Knowledge is Power. Family comes first. "What would you attempt today if you knew you couldn't fail?" Im an aquarian who is constantly chasing my dreams. I work in I.T / Computers in London. I love working hard and getting up early. Love Jazz but TV & Learning about life is the norm. I cook early on Sundays and dinner is normally ready by 10am. I'd love to have a dog. German Gun Dog, Silver One. I'm pretty laid back and like to learn new things. I've made some good friends on here. I like up front people who are not fake and who like a chit chat and a laugh. I love Autobiographies. My favourite ones that I have read... are...in no particular order :-1. Oleg Cassini - Learnt so much from this autobiography. Did you know that Grace Kelly was meant to marry him but did the dirty on him and went off and married Prince Rainier of Monaco. He found out about it in the papers.2. Issur Danielovitch - A.K.A Kirk Douglas. 3. Simon Weston - Falklands War Hero. 4. Richard Branson - Losing my virginity. My main goals in life are to take my next breath and get into a film one day. Also to finish writing my TV Drama "The Code". Peace to you. I learnt alot when I crossed the finishing line in Paris after 6hrs 32 minutes. I forgave myself and started afresh. Life is good still. I'm gonna apply for the Paris Half Marathon in March 2007. x look @ ur page Get Your Own! | View Slideshow Get Your Own! | View Slideshow Get Your Own! | View Slideshow Get Your Own! | View Slideshow Myspace For Girls Only - MyGirlySpace.com Home | Browse | Search | Invite | Film | Mail | Blog | Favorites | Forum | Groups | Events | Videos | Music | Comedy | Classifieds

Sammy Davis Junior & President George Washington.Oh and would love to have dinner and swim in the caribbean sea with my grandfather & great grand father & great grandmother. That would be awesome.Oh by the way I told you I was an aquarian dreamer. I share the same birthday as Norman Wisdom. I collect signed Autobiographies.Oh my Lord, I would have loved to have run with Steve Prefontaine. The greatest ever middle distance / Mile runner in the history of the world. I saw a photo of him at the Paris Marathon 'Expo and it was great. He's the James Dean of Running for me.MY LIFE in a Nutshell ! Im an aquarian who is constantly chasing my dreams.I was born in Forest Gate hospital and grew up in Forest Gate/Stratford in East London. Now Stratford is going to be the home of the 2012 Olympics. One of my friends is Dalton Grant, the British High Jumper on the 2012 Olympic Committee, they all worked hard to get it. When I was about 6 they knocked down the houses opposite my road and build a council housing estate. They named one of the roads Moore Walk (After Bobby Moore England's 1966 World Cup winning captain) and the other road was Brooking Close (After Trevor Brooking - West Ham & England) I met him 8 years later when playing for West Ham Youths, he presented my medal. They came down to open the estate and me and my brothers were standing there with the only English Captain to ever win the Football World Cup.I am Quincy Jones bigges Fan in the UK. I've researched him and am a BIG FAN ! On my 3rd trip to L.a in 1994 I went for an interview at Quincy Jones Productions in an attempt to get into T.V Presenting and be the first Black British Presenter to crack it in the USA.I didn't get a job but met him at his offices at Burbank, California at 3:33pm. So for me, a young guy from Forest Gate in East London, it signified that if you put your mind to something, you can achieve it. 333 is my lucky number. Alot of good things happen to me revolving around that number. So I take it that I have a guardian angel. And am thankful for it ! My Uncle Steven Balson was the first Black Man to Appear on Coronation Street. He was in the background drinking in the Rovers Return Bar. We were kids and it was the early 1970's. Our TV was black n white. Uncle Steve died in 1976 aged 26. I took my kids in August last year to his grave in Ladbroke Grove. I've never forgotten your kindness Uncle. On December 31st 1999, around 11:00pm at the very end of the 20th (last) century, the end of 1,000 years. I was the tallest black man in England. Well, I was working for a Bank at Canary Wharf on the top floor and Near Midnight I was working in the tallest building in England, 800feet and I was the only Black Man up there, ha ha, so that makes me the tallest Black Man in England at the end of the 20th Century. My elder brothers Bobby and Steve started deejaying in 1980...ish. But they started proper in 1984 at a bar in Romford Road in Forest Gate, they were the first people in this country to have the technics decks with the Red Carry cases. I remember when Tim Westwood came round to our house to lend the decks as he had RUN DMC coming over and my brothers were the only place he could get the decks for their gig. They would deejay out with Trevor Nelson and were good buddies, back in the day Trevor's sound was called Madhatters and he was known as Trevor MAdhatter, I used to be called Dave Zoo or Candyman. Jazzie B of Soul II Soul and Trevor and many more sounds would share equipment if people had different parties going on. Way back in 1986, My brothers played out with Trevor in Hackney and I just remember this track Trevor played called "Music of Life". Just fantastic rave. In those days We could still be dancing at midday on Sunday. In 1987 I had a flat in Highbury and on Wednesday 18th November it was Bobby and Steve's birthday. They did a club called Munkberry's down Air Street off Regent Street. I caught the victoria Line train at Arsenal early as I wanted to get something to eat before the club. Then I changed at Kings Cross onto the Picadilly to Picadilly circus. Whilst at the Club that night we heard about the Kings Cross Fire, in which 27 people died. Then they banned smoking on all of London Underground. I do watch people who smoke on underground platforms, they probably don't realise why it was banned.Saturday 20th August 1988 my brothers had a boat party for my Mum's Birthday, it was on the pleasure Marchioness on the River Thames. A year later on 20th August 1989 The Marchioness was hit by a large dredger boat called the Bowbelle and 51 people died. We had a few phone calls from people who were at the party the previous year, thinking we were celebrating again. God rest their souls.I used to take groups of 15 girls or Quindici Regazza to Rimini, Bologna in Italy to dance. Some of the girls I took out there on those trips have moved on to great things and are even on t.v now presenting and some are modelling, one does choreography for Top Video's. So I think I chose well. They were great trips from 1992-1994. Every summer out to Italy and Yes I was getting paid Gee. One time my friend Issa invited me to Milan for the weekend, he worked for FASHION, top model agency over there, so I partied with him and George Weah for the weekend, George played for AC Milan and was the most expensive footballer in the world at the time. And you know what. Not one of these models wanted to engage in conversation on any level. At Milan Airport, on the way back I bumped into my friend Chris who used to run The Boulevard in covent Garden, then took over The SPOT in Covent Garden. He was with his girlfriend and her flat mate. Her flatmate was Kylie Minogue. So there I am being introduced to Kylie and Chris' Bird. And we sat around for an hour or so chatting and stuff and she was so cool. I think she was surprised, not surprised, just appreciative that I didnt try to chat her up or ask her for her number. She's a nice person an dI'm so glad she is well again. One time after that I was deejaying at The Hilton hotel in Park Lane for the Elite Model Agency Annual party and went up to Dannii Minogue and said to her. That's it, "Just fucking ignore me" "I dance my arse off dancing in one of your video's and now you don't want to say hello". I then went to storm off and she came trotting after me saying "SORRY SORRY". I said no problem, we got a drink and were dancing and having a great time...UNTIL ! She asked "Which one of my video's did you dance in ?" "I laughed and said NONE. Ha Ha". She laughed too, but it was a good night, didn't ask for her number either, spoke to Kate Moss at that bash, she was just starting out then. Funny how I meet these people.Fantastic memories for me. But I've always run and love running. I ran cross country for the school and have a lovely black and white photo of me running on Sat 15th March 1980, the day my nephew was born.In March 1989 I was in Malaysia, Penang, Kuala Lumpur and Butu Ferringi Beach and I was running for around 2 hours around and around this park and it was one of the most spiritual experiences that I've ever had. I've always run and swam, only learnt to swim when I was 21. When I was little I couldn't walk until I was about 2 or something, couldn't feel my legs. They never did find out the reason, I remember I used to crawl out of my bed and get to the top of the stairs and would shout out for my eldest brother Clinton. He would come up and pick me up and carry my downstairs. I apparently had a couple of spells in hospital, but suddenly the feeling came to my legs and I've never looked back. But I still get tired when I've been standing up too long, especially when in a nightclub and just want to go home. I've been around the world, Singapore, Malaysia, South Africa, New York, Los Angele's 3 times, Houston, stopped in Bombay, Crete, France, Santorini, Kos, Ios, Ibiza, Jamaica, Dominica, St.Lucia, Barbados, Holland. Italy 7 times. I met Telly Savalas in Kensington in 1987 after I finished work at Reiss down the Kings Road, I worked at The Stock Exchange during the day and had a lovely flat in Highbury at the Age of 20. One of my friends is Adnan Khashoggi, who was once the richest man in the world in the early 1970's, he gave his ex-wife $510 Million for their divorce settlement, we still speak every week. I saw Lady Diana and chatted with Eddie Murphy in London and at a club in L.A when I was out with Susan Jarreau, Al Jarreau's wife. I saw Chris Rock and Dj Hughley at The Spice Club at 2070 Hollywood Boulevard way before they were famous, I've tour managed for John Witherspoon. I've trained in Gold's gym in Los Angele,s with my cousin Burt next to Lou Ferrigno (The Hulk), we trained at the YMCA in Hollywood boulevard with Jeff Goldblum, saw Jim Belushi on Venice Beach, sat at Traffic lights next to Donald Sutherland in West Hollywood, he had his window down but didn't say a thing to us. I think Burt said something to him like "I know what you're thinking...That's Burt and Dave from Stratford, East London, should I say hello". We cracked up at that one. I've been to 10 Soul Weekenders, Saw a school of Dolphins in Greece swimming next to out ferry, great site. I interviewed Chris Eubank 2 weeks before his infamous fight with Michael Watson, I got 24 minutes on tape, but no one will ever see it. I used to organise the ring card girls for him when he had his contract with Sky TV. I've done my boxing and John "The Beast" Mugabe asked me to spar with him. considering a couple of years before he was in the ring with Sugar "Ray" Leonard I declined, but I was 25 and should have taken him up on his offer, but sometimes you doubt yourself and your own ability. I would jump at the chance to spar with him now. We are ALL POWERFUL ! I've stage managed/co-hosted the Black Comedy Awards at the Dominion Theatre in London with John Barnes (Footballer) & Brenda Emanus (TV Presenter/Writer). I was in this Luster's S-Curl Man competition in 1993, Yep, a men's beauty competition. That's right,. I did it. Anyway, I won, well, the 3 judges told me that I won, but Lusters's made me 2nd place. Why, probably because I was the only one being myself. Having a fag and a few beers back stage, having a laugh. The Guy who won, Steve, fantastic guy, was sitting at the piano dropping some tunes mate. So Luster's obviously loved him and made him the winner, even though the 3 judges told me they all voted for me.. But the good news is that I met Muhammed Ali. Lennox Lewis brought him to the function. The whole room just came to a bit of a standstill. Muhammed Ali entered the room and people were clapping and cheering, wicked moment. You had to be there to see it. Wonder what he thought of my hair ! Ha HaWe all have the ability to do things that we think may be beyond our reach. We are powerful mentally and spiritually ! But Life, Circumstances, Partners, Ex-Partners un-tunes us and we need to get back focused onto our goals and dreams and family and friends and kids etc. You make your own life and NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE !I've met Muhammed Ali & Lennox Lewis. I've cut my daughter Morgan's Umbilical Cord. I've held my children when they were 5 minutes old. I've cooked for over 30 people before. I've held Lion Cubs in South Africa, I've walked on the ground on my great-grandparents Land in the west indies. I've touched my Grand Mother in the Morgue.I've swam 3 lengths underwater in Los Angeles. I've sat with people of all religions and had lenghty chats about A,B & C & D. But you know what, the answer is inside you ! Show Love and Compassion to all ! Help your neighbour and guide the children onto a good path of Truth and honesty and fun and wonder. Then Life will take care of itself !Just "Be Happy", That's my motto, it's a state of mind. You are in control !"FAMILY COMES FIRST"

(R.I.P) All the members of the armed forces of the United Kingdom who serve so that I can sit here in peace at a computer and write this stuff, I can go swimming & to the movies & have a pizza and walk safely in this fantastic city that is called London. People don't appreciate the work of all members of the communities and creeds and colours and classes. The upper classes are not appreciated and are told to stop hunting, the lower classes have road humps and speed camera's and longer jail sentences. Kelly Holmes is now one of my heroes, I ran the London Marathon & have always loved running. But what she did brought me to tears. ARGHHHHH I am currently training for the 30th Paris Marathon Sunday April 9th 2006. Steve Prefontaine and Seb Coe are the nuts. I hope to go running with Seb Coe for my 40th Birthday next February 2007. That would be a dream come true.Humbly. Dave...
