The Electrowave project TourdeForce comprises Eric Raven (Vocals), Christian Ryder (Synth & Programming), Max Raiden (Guitar) and Ivan Stirner (Keyboards, Programming and Production).
[TDF] communicates the suffering in the West progressive decadence, the death of tragic feeling, the difference between art and truth, the interior emptiness, the inability to leave the memories and the past behind: music as expression of inner-space and introspection.
TourdeForce follow the lines of Northern Europe Electronica with a considerable influence from the SynthPop; their lyrics themes, inspired by Freud, Baudelaire, F.Nietzsche, James Joyce and Oscar Wilde but also by Romantic culture contain quotations from literature (Le Fanu, Shakespeare, Sartre, James Ballard, H.P.Lovecraft, Antonin Artaud, Italo Svevo, August Strindberg) and Cinema (Roman Polanski, Kubrick, Wim Wenders, Clint Eastwood, David Cronenberg, David Lynch and more...)
The Band is founded by Christian and Eric in Bergamo - Northern Italy, in the year 2004. The original duo option for [TDF] was meant to be a right balance choice after problems and questions of precarious stability into their previous projects (went over genres like heavy metal, gothic rock and industrial/experimental), but also a sort of relative maturity reached in the music composition process. Sure that the use of technology and electronic devices in music does not imply a lack of creativity or absence of feelings in music.
Their first demo, released in 2004, gets some good reviews; into the Italian magazine :Ritual: it is judged as demo of the month and TourdeForce has a little interview in a column for best emerging bands.
In 2005 their song "Wedding in Fusion" appears on the free compilation on-line Italian-Body-music vol.2
In 2006 and early 2007 TourdeForce works at their new release: the title of record is "Omnes Feriunt, Ultima Necat" (Ancient motto referred to the Hours): a dramatic and melancholy work based on research of melody through New Wave influence, Eighties and Nineties electronic music.
Considered as a Net Release the album gets very good reviews and it gives [TDF] some more visibility into the alternative electronic music panorama; in 2007 TourdeForce opens for Client performance in Milan (27th april).
In the middle of the year 2007 TourdeForce come back in a professional studio working at some new material, introducing songwriting, engineering and production workforce from keyboarder Ivan Stirner (from the band Ultravision), and the guitarist Max Raiden from Scavenger.
The Imminent changes of course in style could be actually considered as the most serious attempt from [TDF] to endear and conquest people interest for their music; in a measure it’s also meant to be a light touch of compromise in order to move away from the saturated and subcharged alternative scene.
WE ARE NOT UNDERGROUND.
