Band Members: Serron King
Influences: Serron King listened to Al Green and Aretha Franklin growing up, but then she included Fleetwood Mac and Carol King. Growing up in St. Louis, the home of blues and soul, you'd find this little girl playing James Taylor then spinning off into Rakim or vibing to Santana's guitar. Serron is a diverse combination of music, so she has been called the first child of hip hop, rock and soul!
Sounds Like: Some people have compared her to a female version of Tupac, a comparison she enjoys since she is such a huge fan of the late rapper. Her distinctively rich voice has also been likened to Nina Simone and Meshel N'degeocello with the energy of Tina Turner (who by the way, grew up in St. Louis as well!) The feel is unmistakeably real, raw soul!
